Tigers 2024-2025 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

MLB survey on pitching injuries points to solutions that no one likes.
The most comprehensive inquiry into pitching injuries at all levels of the game still comes down to too fast, too young.

SATURDAY SURVEY.

As we all know, the Detroit Tigers need to seriously boost their offense. But how are they going to do it?
Wait for their prospects to develop? There’s a lot of uncertainty and a long wait attached to this option.
Sign an expensive free agent to a long-term contract? They don’t always work out (see Baez, Javier) and can upset clubhouse culture and become an anchor down the road.
Or….
Trade some top prospects to get a proven hitter?
Let’s talk about this one.
It has its advantages in that the issues associated with free agents would be avoided. And it could jump start offense and performance immediately.
But it might take a bite out of the farm system’s talent and depth.
Let’s assume 2 things:
1. The better the bat, the more talent (the higher their rank in the standings) the Tigers will have to give up.
2. The Tigers won’t trade players like Jackson Jobe or Max Clark.
So, are you on board with trading top prospects for a proven bat?
To help you in your decision, here is the latest ranking of the Tigers’ top 30 prospects:

Should the Tigers trade a top prospect(s) in order to get a proven hitter?

1. Yes

2. No

this is kind of a loaded question. Of course I would trade prospects for a proven hitter, but it really depends on the prospects and the return. I don't think there are any "proven hitters" on the trade block that are worth any decent prosects. I still believe that this team is still in the building phase and last years finish was a little bit of a fluke.

DEAR SANTA CLAWS.
Totally Tigers

We’re keeping this holiday season cat-themed. After all, this is about one of the biggest cats of all – tigers.
Or in our case, Tigers.
Which means it’s time for us to gather our wish list for Santa Claws.
Your job today is to select your one top gift that you want to see the Detroit Tigers get.
We’re not going to let you off easily so you can’t say ” to win the AL Central”, “go to the playoffs” or “win the World Series.” Those are no-brainers.
What goal would you like to see met?
Is there a player you want to see do something specific?
A position that needs filling?
A new broadcaster to join Jason Benetti?
A specific free agent signing?
A manager or coach who needs validation?
You can ask for a gift that involves an individual, a group, the entire roster, a specific department, personnel or the whole franchise.
Use your imagination. Be specific.
What gift would you like the Detroit Tigers to receive?

Do the Detroit Tigers have the top farm system in MLB? 30 minutes.
Chris and Rogelio debate the recent article on USA today on the Detroit Tigers farm system being the number one farm system in baseball and how far has it come since lists started becoming a part of the baseball lexicon, starting with Baseball America in 1984.
