do you understand congress spends the money? Reagan cut the individual tax rates and doubled revenues to the government, as your chart so elegantly points out. The fucking Dem congress spent it like drunken sailors, just like Reid & Pelosi did starting in 2007.
Only Republican congresses have controlled/balanced the budgets throughout our history

I lived through the Reagan years, you were in diapers. After taking over from Carter who left us in a mess, Prime Lending rate over 20%, yes, 20%. All Reagan wanted from the majority Dem congress was increased defense spending(to take down the Soviets), lower tax rates. Tip O'Neill got to spend all those revenues, and he did. I assume you know who Tip O'Neill was?

As long as the rich people were off his back about taxes, and he got his star wars, Reagan did not give 2 fucks what anyone else was doing.

He had 78 of them...most in 50 yrs....almost 25% of his vetoes overridden

tsmith I think it is important to note that the 25% comes from regular vetoes, not total vetoes. He only had 9 overridden. Its not like he had some monstrous amount of vetoes overridden.
