1st place team can't draw fans

Prices are too damn expensive..I'd stay home to. So much easier to stay in home, watch the TV with your own coach and own food.

Seems strange that they wouldn't have more fans showing up since they are in a pennant race and haven't been in contention for 30 years.

But personally I get it. I don't like to go to games and I love sports. It's a hassle that I don't feel is ever worth it. I'd much rather watch on tv in my house or at a bar. The money, the traffic, the crowds, etc.

I have only been to 2 Tiger games since they've been at Comerica (1 was last year and the other was maybe 2006). The only regular season game I saw at Ford Field was the 2nd year it opened (those tickets were free). I did go to 2 other preseason games because someone gave me tickets, it was the 3rd preseason game and I knew half the stadium would be empty. Haven't been to Wings game since 1997 and a Pistons game since Shaq was a rookie in the NBA....like 1990.

Back to the money...I don't know what prices are now but when we went to Ford Field for the regular season game against Dallas (back in 2003 or whenever) my wife got tickets for free from work. They were the club level seats but not great ones. They were around the 10 yard line. The ticket price for each ticket said $235. Throw in parking and some food and drinks and you are looking at spending close to $700 bucks on a Sunday afternoon. That's just insane to me and I'm not cheap.

Similar. I used to have season tickets and I had them the 1st year at Comerica. After that I went to one game. Ford Field, never. Though I wish I had gone at least once. Now when the Lions play the Cardinals here..I'll go but that's it.

I certainly hope they'll soon be a non-first place team that can't draw fans...and ESPN can go back to not giving a shit about it...
