2024 Election

I like this: "Fox News calls California for Kamala Harris." Well no shit you could have called it decades ago.

I have to be honest seeing dems flip out like they did 8 years ago is rather amusing.

I went out and voted for Harris as well, though the vote feels pretty irrelevant where I live. I just hope Trump loses this week and MAGA dies down and we can go back to a traditional Republican Party.
The "traditional" Republican Party died in 1913, along with the rest of the Republic. Trump and Vance were selected, not elected, as have been every candidate since Wilson and likely earlier than that.

“Presidents are selected, not elected.”

― Franklin Delano Roosevelt

He wasn't joking.

It's a little absurd. I mean, he's been president once before, and while he generally did a shitty job, none of the insane shit they're claiming he's going to do happened.

And Biden did a shitty job as well, and Harris couldn't articulate a coherent thought - let alone a policy she'd do differently than Biden - and so presented no alternative.

The one thing I find encouraging about this election is I think they were selected to lose and that didn't happen. We'll see what they're actually able to accomplish with the House still in question.

Not a big fan of President, Senate and House of the same party affiliation.

I feel that way if it's a Dem supermajority.

Well, if there's going to be a supermajority it's probably better to have a Republican supermajority as far more of them will vote with the opposition. Dems are a cult that's votes as a monolith in Congress. And when any of them step out of line, they get destroyed or they leave the party, like Manchin. Plus, it's the only way you can get real reform like reforming healthcare, passing a solid border bill, cutting taxes (especially corporate taxes), etc.

Congratulations michchamp the equally assured misery for all path has now been avoided. Pulled back from the edge of the abyss.

You’re welcome.

LOL, yeah. Too bad the Libtards just forgot to steal this election like they did in 2020, right?

No way 2020 was stolen...

Per wikipedia, Dem POTUS vote totals by election:
- 2008: Obama gets 69mm
- 2012: Obama gets 65mm
- 2016: Hillary gets 65mm
- 2020: Joe Biden gets 81mm
- 2024: Kamala Harris get 67mm (so far)

We're told 2020, the first year of mass vote by mail, was the most secure election we've ever had and anyone who thinks the 2020 election was stolen is simply out of their minds. FIFTEEN million Dem voters show up for a dementia addled life long failure and laughing stock who hid in his basement and only got a few dozen people at most when he did host a rally or other event. Then those 15mm disappear into thin air when democracy itself is on the ballot. Seems totally plausible.

Edit: Rep vote totals
- 2008: McCain 61mm
- 2012: Romney 61mm
- 2016: Trump 63mm
- 2020: Trump 74mm
- 2024: Trump 72mm (so far)

why didn't they steal it again? just up and forgot!

they managed to steal the election in 2020, and nobody in federal law enforcement could catch them or expose it, and then in 2024, they just decided not to steal it again?

You might be right. I just like when a President has some accountability. I think I do. Though even though I voted for Harris I think she would have been terrible.

you're right, it's probably just those 15mm people who forgot to vote this time around.

Assuming they keep the House, they probably only have 2 years, particularly if they are aggressive with policy. That will motivate Dem voters and Rep voters will likely get complacent and lose one or both houses - unless people wake up and realize he's not a racist tyrant and that law and order, secure borders, lower prices and low taxes are actually good policy for everyone.

This is a grave day. I have no confidence in either. I hope I'm wrong but this sucks.

I never said thanks.

I definitely agree with FDR. The people that we want to see win never even make it beyond the primary.

Control of the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch... What could go wrong?

I'm an optimist, so I ask what could go right?
