But, doesn't it feel like we should be 10-3 or even better?

Should have beat TB last week. Should have beat Cincy. Arizona and Pitt were both games that we should have won as well.

If this team could be a bit more consistent...we would have a bye in the playoffs. Very frustrating.

We are far from a lock to the playoffs and yes we should be 10-3 with the division on lock but we wouldnt be the Lions if we did.

Happiness is a measure of your expectations. On paper I saw this team being a 7 win team at the start of the year. Now I can be happy cause they've met those expectations. Ahhhh the benefits of being a pessimist :D

But ya...should have beat ARI, TB and PIT....

Very true. I do think that we will get to the 10 win mark, though. I think that would pretty much guarantee us a playoff trip. Chi has 5 games and they'd need to win all of them to pass us. I believe we have the tie-breaker with them since they were swept by us, so if we end up at 10-6 together, we automatically win the north.

GB would have to win their 4 and hope we lose two. I would think that would give them the edge over us??? The tie didn't help them.

I can deal with the Arizona and Cincy losses. But the Pitt and Tampa were tough to take. The Tampa loss just can't happen. I can't accept that one. Even 8-4 would look monumentally better than 7-5.

Should have won the last two of three, but fortunately in the NFCN, the Lions could get away with being wildly inconsistent...up to this point in the season. They need to stay focused and cut down on the turmovers.

bush said that himself in the post game interview. pretty much tripping over themselves in the first half

I glad to be in first Thanks to a shit division but better than nothing. The problem, though, had always been about the inconsistencies.

i can understand losing to pitt at pitt a bit but losing to TB was ridiculous

That last drive of the game makes me cautiously optimistic that this team may have turned a corner. When's the last time you can remember a Lions team killing 7+ minutes of clock by running it down the other teams throat. I can't remember a time ever. Even in the Sanders era....he wasn't really a straight ahead clock killer. It's encouraging to know this team CAN close out a game on th ground.

For ties in the division, after head-to-head it's divisional record. GB is 2-2-1, Detroit is 4-1, so Detroit will finish the better division record than GB....however, a tie could only happen if Detroit ties a game which is highly unlikely.

If Detroit splits their last 4 games (2-2), GB would have to win all 4 to pass us (9-6-1 vs 9-7).

Keep in mind, GB still has to play Chicago one more time.

I'll post the "what if" scenarios in the playoff thread.

Lions worst stretch this year is 2-2. Need to keep that going and make Packers and Bears really earn it.

Philly game is pretty big though. Need to get the Ws as quickly as possible so we are not relying on having to win at Minnesota.

2011 Lions were 7-5 and then won 3 in a row to clinch playoffs in Week 16. Hopefully that happens again.

That Minnesota game needs to be a meaningless game for us. I want nothing to do with letting them have a chance to keep us out of the playoffs.

Would be nice to sit guts for that one, come in at 10-5.

Tampa loss should never happen, no reason to lose to that team.

Of course the Dallas win should not of happened, If not for a stupid ill timed holding call, we would of lost that game. When you are -4 in turnover diff you should never win.

chances are decent that game will be for seeding of the 3-4 spots. Could be a big game even if we are clinched.

Detroit dominated other areas to make it happen though. It says something that despite terrible turnover 4 of the last 5, they are 2-2 and really could have been 4-0 in those games. That is why I think the coaches should get more credit than they do. The coaches don't cause these turnovers. They are doing something right, mainly moving the ball on offense really well with points when not turning it over, great run defense (so much for the wide 9 as a problem it was Spievey,Delmas hurt, Avril and KVB), more hit than miss coverage (but too many big plays) and good special teams punting, coverage and some returns.
