...to the Girl Scout that came up with Thin Mints.

to the little lady who came up with Trefoils, not so much.

this thread is not what i thought it would be about.

figured you'd be thanking Red & I about the ipod connection info so you wouldn't have to listen to Cowturd, Jim Rome, and Rush Limbaughs next time you were on the road.

"Thanks for tuning in, Victor."

Samoas.

And samoas as a mix-in option at Cold Stone.

And the cupcake from the food truck last night with coconut, caramel, and half a samoa on top.

Yeah that's it, tagalongs. Unfortunately, I feel like after two damn bites, I've destroyed the whole damn box.

Tagalongs.....or maybe not. I think they changed the names. I don't think samoas are officially samoas anymore either.

They're still called Samoas, although I prefer to use the old name Caramel Delights. The same with Shortbread (Trefoils) and Peanut Butter Patties (Tagalongs). This old Girl Scout is not thankful for the name changes. And I think the cookies have gotten smaller over the years, too.

The cookies are smaller the boxes are smaller and the Mints are different. They are still good but the cookie part used to be white.

Thin Mints are good but another favorite of mine is Shortbread. Good stuff. That was back in the day of course and why rename them to Trefoil? What the fuck is a trefoil?

I liked the shortbreads a bit better when they had the sugar on them. They also dont make one anymore I loved and it was a chocolate covered wafer cookie with caramel between the wafers no clue what it was called.

It depends on which troop you get them from, some troops sell them by the old names and some sell them by the new names. I think the only ones that never changed are the Thin mints. http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_cookies/meet_the_cookies.asp

I have two boxes of Caramel Delights in the freezer I got from the neighbor girl a couple of weeks ago. Ok, one and a half boxes

Yeah, I heard a few years ago that some troops sell the ones with the old names. It seems that none of the troops in my area do.

The first porn movie I ever saw was about a girl scout selling cookies door to door - the actress obviously looked over 18.

It was almost 40 years ago, in Times Square.

So anyway, in the movie, after the deed was done, the guy takes the cookies he just bought into the kitchen and opens a cupboard, revealing dozens of boxes of girl scout cookies, and he looks into the camera and says "I hate these fuckin' cookies."
