so by me saying that Rhymes and Santos will be on the roster is not that far out then, hmm.

Yes, from everything I've saw so far you were right on Rhymes, wrong on Santos, good job :) I'm surprised Jim went for speed instead of defense, but we definitly need some speed on the bench.

Speed can be a problem though, in a Jim Leyland kind of way. I can just imagine Ryhmes PR for Martinez in the 8th, game goes to 10 and Ryhmes is batting instead of Mart.

Just read an article on MLive that says there are 27 name plates on the lockers in Yankee Stadium, no Rhymes, but a Santos and a Boesch, and Penny and Pauley but no Below. That is different than what was reported earlier. There are 15 players including Boesch and 12 pitches including Penny. So Penny is probably the one out.

The umpires for the Tigers-Yankees series will be Gerry Davis, Tony Randazzo, Eric Cooper, Dan Iassogna, Ted Barrett and Bill Welke.

Clues emerging regarding Tigers' playoff roster.

My words...it's like the buildup to D-Day! lol

Down to 26 nameplates, Boesch's was removed.

I was wondering about seeing Boesch's name on the list. and I still think Rhymes name should be on the list, but that's just me, my thinking was who's gonna play 2b if Santiago gets hurt, surely not Raburn, but I suppose they could call him up, but if they send Santiago down, then he won't be able to play in the next series. oh well, good thing I'm not the manager. lol

I don't know why he should. He didn't do Jack to help the team down the line. jL wasn't afraid to use Raburn during the season at 2B, why would he change now. But I'd have thought Below over Pauley, just for the fact JL doesn't use him often.

I don't mind Santos if he's taking the spot of Guillen. But I wouldn't like another spot to go to someone who didn't help when division was up in the air over someone who did help during that time.

Looks about right. With only a 11 pitchers, someone was going to be left off - Below in this case. Though personally I'd rather have him than Perry.

same here, same goes for Penny, if they ain't gonna use him as a starter, in which I agree, then why have him on the roster, there's 5 relievers in the bullpen better than him.

As short/middle relievers they are better....

But we have no long man, so if Scherzer or Porcello implode early we have Coke and Penny as the only guys who could eat a lot of innings, one R and one L.
