Alleged 'Innocence of Muslims' filmmaker taken in for interview

I can see liberals voting against McCain, but I don't get the hate for him; for years he drove Republican leadership nuts with his moderate to sometimes even liberal positions on a number of issues.

All the conservative media pundits, when it became apparent that he was a legitimate challenger for the Republican nomination, were hating on him already in those days.

I thought pre-candidate McCain was a pretty good option.

Yeah.

I thought he was in 2000.

by most accounts of the guy, he's a pretty shitty character. still, maybe he would've been a better President than Barack (?) as he would not have been as "accommodating" of Wall Street and the Pentagon as the Obama administration has been.

then again, maybe that's why he wouldn't have been president... the real "insiders" knew who they wanted in office.

I sometimes wonder if the Palin pick was intentionally made by certain shysters in his own party to torpedo him in the general election.

I just can't understand why he would go with Palin. such an awful decision. defies all common sense. you had a country sick to death of the GOP and political conservatism at the time after 8 years of Bush, and you nominate a VP that moves you in that direction. he should've been grooming a running mate from Day 1, and it should've been from among the dwindling pool of the Gerry Ford type republicans.

I didn't get either.

The HBO film Game Change portrayed the events.

That shouldn't make anybody happy. We need a better class of republicans. Wanting a bad candidate to lose is one thing, but enjoying the state they're in or hoping that they run bad candidates is a form of caring about a party more than the nation.

not trying to speak for slick but i think the smiley guy slapping his hand down is more closely portraying "hillarious" than "happy".

Bush, mcaain, palin, bachmann, her gay husband, cain and his pizza, noot, santorum and his hatred for anything with a vagina last but not least....romney. That list is fucking HILLARIOUS!

Yeah, true, he also said it's fun to watch...but I'd lump that in with hilarious as a positive reaction rather than a negative one. No matter how much you don't like a boatbuilder, his mistakes aren't funny if you're with him on the sinking ship. I'm not trying to say that I don't understand picking a side and feeling schadenfreude with regard to the other side, but too many LOLs or LMAOs and I start to wonder if we're living on the same planet (not just talking about Slick of course, more of a general comment.)

Palin was a good choice because it shook it up a little bit. McCain was boring as hell and the GOP didn't want a moderate.

But McCain is a war hero and gets my respect.

Ya they shook it up so much that 4 years later they chose another guy that's boring as hell.

Palin was not about "shaking it up".

Palin was picked because the party wanted to counter the fact that the Dems were running a minority, with his strongest challenger a woman, they wanted to try to shed the "old boys club" image.

So the GOP tried to get in on the "first time ever" bus with nominating a woman, who could have been the first woman vice-president ever. A neat trick that the Dems beat them to by over 20 years.

The problem was that Palin was a terrible pick, though that's not to say Geraldine Ferraro was a good one either.

Slick likes to LOL about George Bush being responsible for collateral damage (children and other innocents being killed in air strikes, etc.) that occred in the Afghanistan and Iraq for the benefit of tsmith, who enjoys turning around and doing a good old LOL at Obama when United States ambassadors are assassinated, and shit like that.

Those two just love to LOL at each other over really funny things; they're a regular LOL club, those two.

I think you can count on one hand the number of times i used an icon since joinging this group....slick has OD on them. For the record....no LOL on the death of the Amb.
