Ambry Thomas Update

God, that sucks. Hopefully it's not the autoimmune form of colitis.

Not sure what type, but this has been going on since April. Sounds pretty severe. Harbaugh said he isn't even on the 110 man roster right now.

He lost a lot of weight, but thankfully he has gained that back.

"He has lost quite a bit of weight," Harbaugh said. "He has gained that weight back. If there isn't setbacks, there will be milestones he will be able to achieve, with no timeline on that."

"When it is determined what he can do, then that is what he will do and we will monitor for setbacks," Harbaugh said. "The next milestone after that will be able to run at full speed and add conditioning and strength. Next milestone would be able to start playing football without contact, and always monitoring if there are setbacks. After that, it will be participating in contact stuff."

This malady ain't no fun. Feels like your insides are falling out of you.

My uncle just got diagnosed with it.

I can't get a straight answer from any family members what exactly it is, and the description of it online didn't seem to align with the symptoms described to me.

all I heard is my uncle has to be on antibiotics for the rest of his life, which sounds awful, and had inflammation of his knees, in addition to the colon, and they can't predict when or why it flares up.

My cousin in law has it. All I know is that it took her about 5 years to find the proper mix of medication and diet to get it to subside.

I can't begin to imagine what it's like to have this condition. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder almost 3 years ago (not autoimmune colitis), and while it sucks if it's not kept under control, GI tract issues seem worse to me somehow.

Very good news about Ambry today. On Allen Trieu’s podcast (The Notorious B1G), Sam Webb stated that Ambry Thomas has returned to practice.

This is great news for the kid's health and also great news for the secondary!
