I'm actually a bit shocked. I thought she'd make it another 15 years. Que Sera Sera, a song that makes my mom cringe.

May she rest in peace.

I heard that song way too many times growing up... my mom had a record of Doris Day songs she would play while cooking or doing the dishes

she (and my grandma) LOVED Doris Day.

I find it weird she was still alive, as her music & her persona seem stuck in a long gone era to me, and she really hasn't been in the news for anything since... dang, I don't even know.

I think if you asked me if she was still alive 20 years ago, I would've said "no" and been surprised to learn she was only 77 at that time.

She always said she wanted people to remember her the way she was when younger so stayed out of the spotlight. And have no funeral.

The song is her staple, played every time she's mentioned, in all her movies. Probably why my Mom got tired of it.

That song and "Pillow Talk" are the only two I remember. I think my mom tried to make us watch some of her movies too, but I don't remember any off hand.

The Man Who Knew Too Much is worthy, but "The Song" is in it.

My favorite with her was The Man Who Knew Too Much. But of course that was a Jimmy Stewart movie. My favorite movie era(s) was the 30's through the 50's so I watched them all. Thanks to my mom. She is a big movie buff. My mom always told me when she went to the movies as a young girl they gave you a dish, she got a whole set that way.
