Well, no thanks to Michigan, it looks like the B1G might still win this thing

It looks to be 4-2 after tonight with Ohio* kicking the shit out of Duke...

Some tough matches for the B1G coming up though.

if it ends in a tie, we retain the trophy.

I had the same post typed up (I called it a cup, not a trophy) at almost the exact same time, but thought...."Who gives a shit who has the cup/trophy? And who actually has it anyway? If it's a tie why should the Big Ten gain anything? This is stupid." So I deleted it.

we don't really gain anything, we just retain what we took last season.

if the cup/trophy is stupid and pointless, well, by extension the sport of basketball, and sports in general are all stupid and pointless.

I agree to some extent, but they do make some people a lot of money, and give fans something to look at to occupy their time, so there's that.

I knew you were going to say something like that.

The Big Ten gains another year of holding the cup. Holding a cup for a year when you didn't win is stupid.

Is there really a cup or a trophy? Or is it a championship belt? See, in the case of a championship belt, the champ keeps the belt in a draw. You don't get a new belt every match, you just keep the same one that you have.

I thought it was just a title or just bragging rights. Where does the trophy go?

I say if it ends in a tie, MSU n OSU's starting 5's square off against Duke n Carolina's starting 5 in a battle to the death. That way we all win.

Michigan losing this really threw me for a loop. If you would tell me that Michigan would be down only one despite Hardaway barely playing in the first half. I would tell you Michigan was going to go on a tear in the second half. Didn't see much of the game. I was working and kept an eye on Gamecast so I am not sure what happened.

Tim Doyle (yeah, I know) made a good point. Both Michigan and Duke stunk up the joint after long return flights from the Maui Invitational. Actually, the other day he predicted they would struggle.

OH, you KNEW I was going to say something like that, eh?

Well, if holding a cup you didn't win is stupid, losing a cup you didn't lose is even more stupider.

Goddamn idiot.

Michigan doesn't play like a team is why they lost. look at the assist every game. they have talent, but it seems whoever has the ball shoots 1st from anywhere, instead of getting the best shot. and Hardaway is a joke, all he cares about is getting his 20 points a game. this team had promise coming into this year but play like individuals instead of a team. if they can play like a team, they could give tOSU and Wisconsin a run for their money.

Wow, it's good you came on here and pointed that out, because no Michigan fan who watched the game last night would have noticed this without your enlightenment.

No, that would be equally stupid. Stupid.
