Backus retires

Google cheeno Pfeiffer gets me this:

lol I think we found our Right Guard!

Think I found my next wife... you know that girl can COOK!

Reiff as a rookie played as well at LT as Backus. I know he wasn't there much.

And for everyone talking about Reiff's short arms, perennial pro bowler Joe Thomas has short arms.

Whoa, whoa...hold the phone...I thought this thread was about cheeno Pfeiffer?

Sorry I must have misread the thread title.

More cushion for the pushing, right cheeno?

It's cool, hippo. We all get sidetracked from time to time. Now to stay off-topic, I don't understand all the sudden panic around Reiff. He'll make a fine tackle.

The panic around Rieff is that some no-name no-dick beat writer somewhere wrote that the Lions were thinking about moving him inside. Then they released Peterman.

Between the two, the assumption is suddenly that the Lions are absolutely moving him inside and they have lost complete confidence in him being a tackle, and that he would be a better right guard because he's not fit to play tackle... blah blah blah... the rumor mill spirals out of control again.

Rieff was drafted to be the LT of the future, and the future came a year early. I'm betting he starts at LT for us this year and we draft a late round RG (unless there's a signing before hand) with Hilliard playing RT.

I hope you're right ink. A G is a hell of a lot easier to replace than an LT.

Exactly. No one from Detroit's organization has mentioned anything about moving him to G. All rumor mill.
