Best shut down for the rest of the season

Sweet. That must have been some concussion. He ain't playing no more. Homie don't play that.

No surprise about Best. I think most of us thought his career ended with that last concussion.

Now Ray Lewis being out for the season, that is HUGE.

I am sure we have seen the last of him at least in a Lion Uniform, I hope he retires and doesnt try and play again. His health is more important and as long as he was smart with his money he should have some left.

You are counting on an athlete to be smart with his money? LOL!

Good luck to him, his career is obviously over. We took a big chance on him and it didn't pay off.

Does anyone know if any of his contract next year is guaranteed?

If I were an opposing GM I think I would have a bit of a moral issue with signing this guy. Clearly his concussion is extremely serious if he can't see the field for 2 years...so do I really want to be the guy to sign him and risk a very likely outcome that he suffers another very serious/life altering concussion? It's not a knee or an ankle...it's the guy's brain. I wouldn't do it.

That's a shame the guy had great potential and was a big part of this offense when healthy. I hope that this decision ends up being whats best for him and saves his life in a way. It's scary to think what one more hard hit could of done to him.

I'm sure he will retire now; he needed 3 years to be vested. Now he will get the benefits from the CBA, although knowing insurance companies they will try to stick it to him arguing the injury happened in college.

It's for sure a shame because the guy is a playmaker. Now we need to find someone who can step into a playmaker role. Johnson can't do it all

To bad De'anthony Thomas from Oregon is only a Soph would fill Best's role nicely.

Hope he does well but again this falls on the Lions management taking a shot on a guy with a history of concussions in college.. Man that Monday night he had verses the bears was a magical night!!!
