Best shut down for the rest of the season

I'm glad management put his safety ahead of putting him back out there. Would have been a shame if he had come out only to take another big hit and officially end his career.

What now then? Do the Lions try to fill that void with Bell, or do they go after another speedster with good hands in the draft?

His career is over.

I only said officially because I read an article and he said that he would play again even if he had to sit out this year. They need some retired players to sit him down and talk some sense into him if his family hasn't gotten through to him.

Marcus lattimore

Ill puke if we go RB in rd 1 and Lattimore is a rd1 lock. Heres the top 20. Stepfan Taylor in rd 3 or Barner in rd 4 would be the soonest i look for a back up RB. FA always seems to have a couple guys that can produce floating around.

Marcus Lattimore RB 6'0" 232 South Carolina 90 1 19
Le'veon Bell RB 6'2" 242 Michigan State 82 2 53
Andre Ellington RB 5'9⅜" 195 Clemson 80 3 63
Knile Davis RB 6'0" 220 Arkansas 77 4 85
Ed Lacy RB 5'10" 220 Alabama 74 5 98
Johnathan Franklin RB 5'10" 205 UCLA 72 6 105
Christine Michael RB 5'11" 210 Texas A&M 71 7 111
Montee Ball RB 5'11" 210 Wisconsin 70 8 117
Stepfan Taylor RB 5'8?" 215 Stanford 68 9 129
Ray Graham RB 5'9⅜" 186 Pittsburgh 66 10 136
Mike Gillislee RB 5'11" 200 Florida 65 11 141
Joseph Randle RB 6'0" 192 Oklahoma State 60 12
Rex Burkhead RB 5'10" 213 Nebraska 59 13
Cierre Wood RB 6'0" 215 Notre Dame 58 14
Spencer Ware RB 5'11" 223 LSU 57 15
Dennis Johnson RB 5'9" 213 Arkansas 56 16
Onterio Mccalebb RB 5'10⅛" 175 Auburn 53 17
Kenjon Barner RB 5'9⅛" 186 Oregon 51 18
Robbie Rouse RB 5'8" 180 Fresno State 49 19
Jordan Hall RB 5'9" 195 Ohio State 46 20

I dont think we need a rd 1 every down back, What we need is a 3rd down speed back who can catch.

Stay safe Jahvid.

Risk by the Lions only payed off in the 2 year short term. Can't say it's terrible luck because we knew coming in to the draft but at least we got 20 games out of him. Though only about 7 truly healthy with the turf toe stuff in 2010. Eagles game 2010 and Bears 2011 will always stick in my mind with Best. If we lose to Bears on that MNF last year, Lions don't make the playoffs so I'll take that as worth it. But right now it sucks. Makes the LeShoure pick look a little better and smarter though. If a speedy receiving back is there and BPA in Round 2 or 3 take one. The Lions have already adjusted to life without Best though. Good news for Joique Bell too.

So no CB in 2013 either? Eventually we'll have to draft one, RB you can get further down the list.

that was a joke for those about to go off on me...no need to go postal

Think management knew something when they drafted LeShoure? Looking pretty good right about now.... Now we just need a back exactly like best without the concussions to be his compliment.

We don't need a back in the first round though. We need secondary help, CB or S. 1st 2 rounds really.

Totally agree. But you know our management with the awesome BPA strategy will never get us what we want or need.
