lots of rumors that he's going to announce his retirement today for health reasons

Didn't know he was not well. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. That said, I won't miss him on the sidelines.

Official now, coaching one more year. I didn't like him initially but he kind of grew on me I hate that he gets every whistle unless they're playing duke but cbb is better off with guys like Ryan izzo and beilein than self and calipari

I never cared for the guy. I don't think he's the stand-up, classy guy he's made out to be. I don't think he's a cheater like self or calipari but that's a pretty low bar. I do think he's an asshole, his teams are boring, he doesn't win or lose gracefully and he doesn't hide his jealousy for other coaches very well. It seems like he feels entitled to everyone's love and adoration because he won a bunch of D3 championships. I'd prefer to see him coach long enough for Izzo to get at least even w/ him head-to-head but even without that, Izzo's legacy is secure so in the end it's not that big of a deal.

He's already expressed his hope that his long time assistant with succeed him so we can probably expect several more years of really boring basketball.

you know he can do the Hambone, right?

and the Soulja Boy?

I wonder if the new coach is going to get the benefit from the big ten schedule makers and only get tough teams at home and play all of the bad teams twice

He never bothered me, Lots of dislike for him. The only thing that was mildly annoying for me was the blowfish "what, thats a foul" look.

Pretty fly for a white guy. Of course I have no idea if that's actually the hambone or the soulja boy - would have to check with someone 20 years older and 20 years younger to confirm. Neither one will score him high points for degree of difficulty but props to him for having the balls to do either one on camera. I still don't like him and can't believe he's actually YOUNGER than krooziewooski - he looks 20 years older.

He's always whining about one thing or another on the court, in press conferences or interviews and he pulled some pretty unsportsmanlike shit. I don't recall seeing this but my buddy told me about an MSU game in his early years at wisco where they had the game in hand and he called TO inside a minute. Izzo puts the scrubs on the floor but Ryan doesn't - he called the TO to draw up an ally-oop play. Izzo was pretty ticked off - like "asshole, wtf was that?"

Anyway, pretty sure izzo can't stand him - I think he recently made some comments about mutual respect or coming to an understanding or whatever but I don't think he'll be missed in East Lansing.
