Boeing 737 MAX

The failure happened under our system. To argue that it wasn't under capitalism is to imply that our system isn't capitalist.

you're almost as good at putting words in peoples' mouths as michchamp. are you now also arguing that this is the fault of unfettered capitalism? which would of course imply you think we have an unfettered capitalist system, right?

Yeah he sucks, but this time he didn’t fuck up much worse than anybody else.

careful, you might end up on turd's shit list if you keep this up.

On a more serious note, I'm thinking maybe the CDC should quarantine and study you - they may discover the vaccine for TDS. My money is on something in Mickey's Malt Liquor.

I tried to find if there was an international organization responsible for airline safety, and according to what I found, it appears that the closest thing to it is our own FAA

So one would hope that airline safety regulation would it transcend economic ideology.

Plus our system is halfway down the road to socialism already anyway. Almost all the shit that the democratic socialists claim they want we pretty much already have-they just don’t know that.

Or they do know that and they’re just trying to get people to vote for them who don’t know it.

It might be just the Mickey?s itself-maybe it just makes everything more tolerable; Trump, Michigan losing, hot 25-year-old chicks not checking me out like they used to 30 years ago?tough shit to deal with like that.

No, I think capitalism requires regulation to function properly. When regulations are weak or bypassed stuff like this can happen. Broken capitalism driven by people that either don't understand that regulations are an important part of capitalism or are corrupt and don't care.

Did the FAA give the go ahead to allow other countries to use this plane or do they have their own agencies that test the planes prior to allowing them to fly in their countries?

Senior official from Boeing "Every time something happens ... we learn from it,"

Seems kind of nonchalant.

Good question.

It is a good question and again from this that I posted in post #25 our own FAA seems to be the gold standard; but each nation apparently makes its own decisions.

Was the gold standard. Sounds like this was decades in the making. The same logic that was applied to lenders making loans for houses, that companies can regulate themselves because it's too costly not to, has slowly changed how much the FAA left to industry to do for themselves.

On a side note, I flew from Miami to Detroit yesterday on American. They had us go through Dallas. I have to think that the grounding of the max fleet has taxed the service out of Miami. Screw Trump and the FAA!

Goddamn Nanny State Big Government overreach!

The market had already properly priced the risk that the 737 MAX would uncontrollably crash into the price of the tickets. If these passengers weren't willing to die, they shouldn't have gotten on the plane.

Just about all American airline flights go through Dallas I think.

But yeah, still-screw Trump and the FAA.
