Playing Brandon Inge, Ramon Santiago in the 2 hole? What a joke!... why the hell would he play Mags? What the hell is this guy thinking?

Don't get me started about that DD clown either...picking up Delmon Young on waivers? Great another outfielder who can't get on base and is a sub par fielder! ...This season is gonna be a total loss.

Oh and the sky is falling.

Just think it's funny how he only gets credit when things don't work out.

Yeah, Leyland sure fucked the team in the ass.

He's a real ass fucker, that one.

One thing we know about Porcello - he can be really awesome, or he can suck.

So here's hoping a little closer to awesome and a little further from suck tonight.

Same thing with AJ..this game is a coin flip.

Yes, I'm hoping for the suck end of the awesome/suck spectrum for Burnett...

Would like to see Rick put on a Game 4 performance that is similar to the one that Bondo had, following up Kenny Rogers emotionally intense '06 ALDS Game 3 masterpiece, but much more realistically, IF he can limit the Yankees to <5 runs, while pitching 6-7 innings, (preferably 7) and perhaps the Tigers lineup can/will score early and often on Burnett, then Coke and Benoit relieving, both will be able to slam the door on the Yankees' hitters and give the Tigers their '11 ALDS victory. At least that is how I hope tonight's game "might" play out.

Grass is always greener....

Did anyone notice Gibson having his guy pitch to Fielder with a base open? God love Gibby, but he's a terrible tactician. After suicide squeezing with his clean up hitter against the Tigers and pitching to Prince, I'm thrilled to have Leyland.

I'm encouraged by the fact that Porcello was fantastic in the last big game he pitched. We lost to the Twins, but he was stellar. Also, Inge got hit by that pitch.

Not sure why you started this thread, so we can say thanks to JL because he started Brandon Inge. Lol.

Just because all of the haters around here never eat crow when he makes the right moves (that they were against) but as soon as he pitches Valverde in the 8th inning and he doesnt do well, he's the worst manager of all time. Same with DD...he gets ripped for moves, they work out, everyones happy but no one admits they were wrong or gives any credit.

That's part of baseball or any sport. I'm sure not praising someone who decided to play B. Inge. Whether it worked or not. It just is.

Or maybe I should praise him, Inge did get a double and a single, and get on his ass during the same game, Inge popped up with a guy on third one out.

Give credit where its due...Leylands lineup though controversial worked out perfectly.

When he is wrong do his cheerleaders eat crow? He has 2 of the top 10 players in baseball. That is why he wins. Leyland has never got a hit for the Tigers. He has never thrown a pitch for the Tigers. All that a manager can do is blow games. A good manager doesn't blow games, but a good manager NEVER wins games, players do.

Probably right in most of that. Doesn't take good manegerial skill to pitch Benoit in the 8 and Valverde in the 9th. That's their spots. Leyland put Inge in the lineup for 4 months at .180 clip. Its also pretty easy to use Coke, against lets say Dunn. A LHP in which Dunn can't hit. In fact what does JL do beside play his hunches and hope they work out. Most of the time they don't.

What manager never blows a game? I mean, based on your criteria? Considering Leyland doesn't attempt to steal a lot or sacrifice a lot, he does give his players the opportunity to succeed. Sure, there's always gripes about the line up or the pitching, but there would be with every manager.

Joe Madden, who I think is pretty solid, made a terrible choice by sending Upton with two strikes on Longoria and possibly ran themselves right out of the playoffs. Shit happens.
