me too. I agree with the comment about there being little meaningful policy difference at the top; was just pointing out the obvious difference in their backgrounds.

also not voting for either of them. green party. communist party, maybe.

wow, I don't think the Green Party is actually running a presidential candidate. I know they got taken off the ballot in Illinois. I signed the petition to put them back on it. I guess I'll vote socialist.

I usually split my ticket between Libertarian and Green, although those being the two most promiment of the 3rd parties, maybe I should start voting even further down the food chain - otherwise they both may end up being just the "Republicrats" light.

in my experience, the Green Party are legit as far as being activists and *actually* informed goes. of course for this reason, the main stream press paints them as a bunch of out-of-touch dirty hippies.

earlier in my life, I've worked/volunteered with local campaigns for both GOP and Democratic candidates... the campaign workers on those things really drink the Kool-Aid.

I've never worked with any libertarians; my perception is that they are more like the GOP-lite. I don't think their entire platform is reasonable; in a modern society, with people living in dense cities, and a highly integrated, global economy... less regulation and management is a recipe for disaster. (we're living it now anyways...)

Yeah I've voted Green a lot in my past. I used to do a lot of work for the local party here. What a pain in the ass it is to get a third party on the ballot! It would be nice to see a third party make a little noise and challenge the two headed snake. Problem is most people see a third party vote as a wasted vote. I know a lot of people that think that way and if they just voted for a third party...well maybe it wouldn't be such a "waste"?

Alas, we'll be stuck with more of the same, no matter who wins, and many will be too blind or brainwashed to see it.

Not sure which direction I'll go this year, but it won't be either of the big two.

I wouldn't describe libertarians as being GOP light.

That said, while I hold many libertarian ideas and philosophies, a number of the complexities that you enumerate are amongst the reasons why, pragmatically, I'm not fully a libertarian.
