Champ, I actually preferred your version, but with one minor request to change the line:
"There was no immediate indication that the incidents were related."
to a red color as well, because it IMPLIES that the incidents are related despite the weak attempt to keep them separated. The two events were so NOT related in pretty much every aspect outside of them being done by individuals against entities of authoritarian nature. There has not been any proof whatsoever that the two men were connected, unless you go to a 4th or 5th degree of separation...which means there is no connection.
