Catholic Congressman boycotts Pope's address

I'm not going to attend either; that said I'm not boycotting it; I simply have never been elected to the House of Representatives, and not being a member, I really see no reason for me to attend.

Plus security probably wouldn't let me in. I can just imagine it now.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Nobody really, but I just want to listen to the Pope."

"Get the fuck out of here."

"Okay no problem."

I actually did go and see the Pope once in the late 1980s at the Pontiac Silverdome; but it was a different Pope and he's dead now anyways.
dead now anyway.

I picked up a chick and banged her a week later; it might be my best sexual conquest story.

Every night when I lay down to say my prayers I thank God for sending The Pope to me to give me that sexual conquest story.

What are the popes views on climate changing?

Isn't the climate always changing?

I really don't have time to read through 184 pages. humanity could be helped greatly if we all learned how to communicate without writing a book and babbling on so much

Actually it wouldn't help much.

Just like the Pope's contribution to the carbon dioxide percentage in to the atmosphere won't do much to change the direction of climate change.

And I suspect neither will getting one country to ebb while China laughs either

Please excuse me now while I go catch todays non false reality funded news, thank you have a good evening

There's a reference to a 184 page document, but that article is only 465 words. It also references a few tweets. The Pope has spoken on the topic several times if you want something in between a tweet and 184 pages other than this article.

More tweets if that's more your style:

How long before someone in the (R) crowd calls the pope a bleeding-heart liberal?

Trump probably wants to see his birth certificate as well.

All popes are bleeding heart liberals, just like Hell is hot. Neither has ever been disputed.

You can be Kenyan or whatever else you want to be to be pope. You don't have to be a U.S. citizen; in fact, not that many popes have been U.S. citizens.

I'm pretty sure Pope Francis is the first American pontiff.

Yeah let's not be first in helping the planet let's just pass it on to the next generation.. Typical American way...

That's the best story anyone has posted around here in some time.

Bonus points if you first prayed with her, then said "let's go back to my place, and 'glorify the Lord' there."

that already happened in my family. My uncle was going on about how wrong it was for the Pope to criticise wealth.

I laughed because he was originally an old money WASP who converted to Catholicism to marry my aunt. He was okay with this for a long time because Catholicism has been more conservative than his Episcopalianism (no openly gay priests or lady reverends!) over the last couple decades.

But critising the pursuit of wealth? This pope is now out-of-line. Time to rethink this whole Catholicism thing...

That's right, Pope Francis his first language is Spanish.

I wonder if he's going to speak English here or if he's going to speak some Spanish.

And if he does will the Donald criticize him for it?

He will, but what a lot of people don't know is that the Pope also speaks Redneck. He can speak both the Hillbilly/Appalachia and Southern/NASCAR Fan dialects... with an actual twang.

The Donald and his supporters will be so impressed when they hear him praise "MERKAH," "JAYSUS," and... "Jeff Gordon" they'll forget all about the Spanish speaking.

I'm watching CNN as I get ready to head out on business, and I just saw Emilio Estefan talking about Donald Trump. He was speaking English and it's the first time I've ever heard him speak English in an interview. Before I Had only seen him speak Spanish with a translator.

I guess he figures that if the pope is going to speak English he should be speaking English too.
