Celtics 109 Pistons 89 Final

First of 2 straight vs Boston. We should get a better idea of where we stand..

I really would love a split and to play good. The pistons turned the ball over 20 times in the win over Cleveland. Need to fix that.

Damn both 5-0 Milwaukee and Toronto who is 6-0 keep winning. To think we drafted Caldwell-Pope number 8 and Milwaukee picked Antetokounmpo at 15 in the 2013 draft. What a pick. It is werid looking back with hindsight and thinking what could have been with Pistons basketball over the years. I guess all teams can claim that . I guess we ended up with the 25th pick that year.
Bullock.

Where we stand is mediocre I'm afraid. We may make the season more fun by actually making the playoffs, but we have no shot at anything beyond that.

Butts getting kicked. I'll wait more than 1 game before I dismiss completely.

Brown’s first NBA bucket is a driving slam. Only Piston Highlight of the night.

Not dismissing them per se. They should make the playoffs in a terrible conference. But they are nowhere near elite and won't be anywhere close to it anytime soon. Just trying to manage expectations.

It's the same team as last year, but with a new coach I guess? If we are expecting a full 82 game slate of healthy Blake and Jackson, then we are asking for a lot.

Pistons only shooting 35 percent for the game. Boston is the best team in the East . If they stay healthy they will win the East I think.

Yeah that is the issue. Blake and Reggie staying Healthy.

Who does these days. Have you seen the scoring this year?

Teams that have any interest in winning make it a part of their routine. scores might be inflated but defense will still carry a team much better than a bunch of one dimensional offensive players will

Detroit is the middle of the pack so far .. In-fact the worst team in opp. points last year gave up 113.3 points. So far this season 15 teams have given up more per game. We just played a better team tonight.

And lastly 109 points that Boston scored isn't all that much comparatively.

*shrugs* I don't care that a bunch of other NBA teams don't play defense either. I have watched most of the Pistons games so far, and they go through the motions on that side of the ball more or less. And yes we played a better team last night and *shock* they absolutely destroyed us. What does that tell you about the Pistons? They are mediocre like I said.

I'm just saying that if the Pistons are going to be successful they should be making defense part of their identity a la the 2004 team. This team doesn't have a superstar unless you count Blake, and I don't.

Not trying to shit on the team either. I am happy they are off to a good start. I just feel like it's a bit of smoke and mirrors. My biggest concern after the Blake trade was we were going to be mired as an average team for the next 3-5 years.

As a Celtics fan, the only boston team I root for, the second unit has some really good players, lots of depth on the team.

Toronto plays them real tough, and off of last year both philly and the bucks.
That said, I just wish they had a better presence at Center over Horford. Baynes is a backup.

Give the pistons new coach Casey some time, he was good with the raptors.

I agree with you. Defense should be the Pistons MO.
