I'm surprised nobody has started this thread, yet. It's been confirmed that cheerleaders will be a part of the 2016 season for the Lions. Too lazy to link, but the squad will be completed in August. I believe auditions are next month. Yay?

Of course no one posted this yet.. we're all a little busy fapping over cheerleaders. Duh.

I have never really cared, but it always seemed odd that a dome team didn't have them.

I only go to a couple game each year, and honestly don't pay attention to the field once play stops. You could have told me we've always had cheerleaders and I wouldn't have known the difference.

There isn't much of a quantity of beautiful women around here anyways. Gonna end up looking like the cheerleaders in the Longest Yard

10-15 years ago I'd have raised a beer. Nowadays I just don't care. Just give me a playoff win.

Cheerleaders are nothing... at the game.

When you live in 'Zona, and everything is televised, they are a LOT more fun to look at before commercial breaks than the commentators.

FINALLY!!!!

Had enough of looking in every corner and seeing a 14 year old twirling a baton!!! Bring on the Lions cheerleaders!!!

Bus the MSU pom pom girls in for the job.

The're hotter than the ones at Michigan plus they're all dumb sluts.

This is the missing piece to a championship team.

Thumbs up ^ this is in fact the missing piece, the years of wallowing in the crapper are finally over! 10 years of franchise excellence starts now, only wish Calvin could have stayed one more year to enjoy year one of the dominance.

As Lions fans, we've been begging for the culture of the Lions to change for 50+ years.

You have to admit, it's changing now.

Don't expect the cheerleaders to have too prominent a presence, though. Based on Wood's comments, they will be part of the in-game experience, not their own entity like the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Wood said the team has made no decisions on cheerleader calendars or anything like that.

Wood said he spoke with multiple teams that employ cheerleaders in coming up with the plan, although he declined to name which teams he spoke with.

The cheerleaders will not be employed by the Lions, but rather an affiliate of the organization, Ford Field Management. They will not be full-time employees, but considered part-time or seasonal employees.
