Trans high school athlete injures 3 opponents in the first half of a Vermont girls high school basketball game. Coach for the opposition forfeits before the 2nd half earning a ban from competition for HIS school. In a deliciously ironic statement the Vermont Principal's (principal, not principle since they obviously have no principles) Association declared:

"Mid-Vermont Christian School has every right to teach its beliefs to its own students. It cannot, however, impose those beliefs on students from other public and private schools; deny students from other schools the opportunity to play; or hurt students from other schools because of who those students are,"

So apparently demanding boys can be girls (and should compete against girls, occupy girls only spaces, etc despite the science and common sense telling us that's simply false), isn't imposing your beliefs on others. You have to be pretty dumb not to see the absurdity in that statement. The best part is the last line where they say it's the people who forfeited so they wouldn't have any more of their players injured who are the ones who "hurt students from other schools."

That thing that never happens just happened at the olympics - in boxing. Italian fighter Angela Carini's fight against male boxer "Imane" Khelif lasted all of 46 seconds and just two punches, the first broke the chin strap of her headgear and the second shattered her nose. Khelif had been banned from competing in women's boxing in the world championships but got the green light by the IOC because he feels like a woman, so he's a woman.

So if a person is born with a vagina aren’t they a women? This boxer isn’t transgender and has always identified as a female. From what I have read they were disqualified at the world championships even though the results were inconclusive. The IOC said they were not provided the results it’s off those tests. From what I have seen that she was born with a rare condition that she has female anatomy but the tests said she has XY chromosomes. From watching the fight or punch, the Italian fighter probably planned to quit from the beginning. I’m sure she has been hit a lot harder than that jab.

If the IOC wasn't given the test results, why wouldn't they test the athlete themselves?

A person born with XY chromosomes is not a woman even if they are raised as a girl. If he was born intersex and they chopped off his member and decided to raise him as a girl, that doesn't make him a woman. Also, however long you identify as a woman isn't a determining factor in whether or not you are a woman. There's no mention of him taking puberty blockers or estrogen (shocking for a kid that grew up in rural Algeria) and given the fact that he's been proven to have XY chromosomes, heightened levels of testosterone and there's nothing feminine about him (chest, shoulders, hips) it's pretty clear he's been through male puberty.

Well the only test that said she failed was from the IBA and they are run by a Russian. So happens they let her get to the gold medal round after beating a Russian only to be disqualified. She has been allowed to fight in numerous other events including the last Olympics. Not sure I trust the testing of the IBA.

do you think they're making it up and that's actually a woman who just happens to have a man's body, xy chromosomes and heightened testosterone? I can see not trusting the IBA but the organization on the other side of this controversy is the notoriously corrupt IOC who hasn't actually tested this athlete. You trust them at all, let alone more?

Some articles I've read are pointing to "her" less than stellar record against other women, citing the Tokyo olympics but failing to point out that the dude was only 17 at the time - Mike Tyson was world champion at 20 and didn't even make the olympic team when he was 18.

I don't think Algeria is claiming the fighter is trans and waiving pride flags at his fights. And no one is assuming anything. They're pointing out the fact that the dude was tested and shown to have XY chromosomes and male levels of testosterone and the IOC is ignoring that and letting him beat the shit out of women.

I've learned something thanks to this thread: if a controversy - real or made up - say, involving a transgender person playing a sport, happens once every 3-4 months (or even more rarely) among the thousands of other sporting events happening during that time, it counts as "constantly happening" and is a real problem we need to solve by passing ham-fisted legislation that criminalizes and prohibits legitimate and established medical care for transgender people, something that has gone on for decades up until the sick freaks making a big deal about this stuff - and at this point, I do feel you are a sick freak if you keep obsessing about this - decided it was a problem because of a clearly coordinated campaign among right-wing astroturfing groups that decided to make transgender people their boogie man du jour.

I guess that "Invasion at our southern border that never happened" outlived its shock value...

It's happening at the professional level now - transgender golfer Hailey Davidson is just two steps away from qualifying for the LPGA tour...

Nobody watches or cares about women's golf so that of course means this isn't really happening or an issue.

I wonder what gave those teams an advantage over all the teams made up of only actual women...I wonder why one of the "women" atop the podium is so much taller and has a much bigger bulge in her pants than all the other women...
