Okay, so let's see where we stand....

Looks like Rex Ryan to Buffalo is done.

Jets are locked in on Dan Quinn. Check.

Sparano or Del Rio will be the new head coach in Oakland. check.

Unless I am forgetting a team, that leaves Atlanta as the only team left looking for a new head coach. I still doubt Austin leaves in a lateral move, it's a HC opening or nothing.

Rumor says he or Todd Bowles would be favorites in Atlanta with Rex Ryan out of the picture.

Josh McDaniels in ATL is possible. Chitown an 9ers are still open. Austin to Chitown is a bigger nightmare matchup than Eric Ebron.

DAMN! I forgot the Niners and Da Bears.

Still a few good candidates out there.

Technically, Dallas doesn't have a head coach either. Jason Garrett's contract is up. More than likely with their playoff win**, JerryWorld tries to keep him but weirder things have happened.

I would imagine that unless a big big name comes into the equation, something like Cower deciding to come out of retirement, Jason Garret gets a new three year deal out of Jerry.

Jerrah is the kind of guy who likes to be right. It's maybe the only thing he likes more than winning. He's defended Garrett for years, and finally got a playoff win out of it. This is his vindication, and to dump him now without a huge name in the mix would be admititng he was wrong.

He never admits he was wrong.

I'm pretty ecstatic at how the coaching search has turned out so far. The bills won't be lacking that asshole dynamic with Ryan coaching and ole Jim lol. And barring any wild swing of events we should have Austin back. There are too many names of proven guys floating around as HC candidates for Austin to get tabbed after only one season as coordinator. At least that's what I thought anyway.

Then Garrett and Romo belong together.....two super hyped guys that haven't actually won anything.

Get er done Jerry!!!!

I just can't imagine Schwartz being the defensive coordinator in Buffalo next season. Those two guys in the same locker room, with Rex's belief that he is the ultimate defensive genius.... it's a recipe for disaster.

I don't think I have seen two ego's that large try to occupy the same limited space so much since Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford got divorced.

I know LMAO. How could they justify letting schwartz go though? That defense was legit under him. I just have been having wet dreams of them (on the sideline) fist fighting each other in the middle of a game. Oh how I hope that dream comes true :)

Jim is a 4-3 guy. Rex is a 3-4. Be interesting to see if he stays now that rex is there.

Kubiak to chicago is the rumor I saw.

HC like to bring in their own guys. I suspect Gym to be gone soon..

Roto says Kubiak is staying in Bal another year. Just another rumour though.

austin has second interview with Falcons on Thursday

That doesn't bode well for us. Second interviews are legit. He apparently is not a Rooney Rule victim in Hotlanta.

Damn it.

And thinking about it... could Rex have landed in a worse situation, really?

The QB situation in NY is what doomed him, first in his love affair with the Sanchize, and then with the controversy between a lousy young QB in Geno Smith and a veteran with nothing left in the tank in Michael Vick.

Now he walks into Buffalo where he has a shit young QB in Manuel, and will have to bring in an again re-tread to compete.

There is no way they let him draft a QB, because they just dumped a 1st round pick into Manuel, so he's right back in the stuck position that killed him with the Jets.

I think if I were Rex, I'd have done anything I could to avoid that hiring.

Step 1. Bring Sanchez Back
Step 2. Extend Spiller and Keep Bryce Brown
Step 3. Draft maulers
Step 4. Ratchet up the D from number 3 to number 1

Result - 5 year ago Jets which made the AFC title game a few times
