Coachwatch 2014

I follow ya now cheeno. Your post made it sound like the T's were crossed, the I's were dotted, and the bottom of the contract was signed.

Yeah, it's gonna happen, but it's not official yet. I'm with ya.

The Shanahan hire was the capper. Austin wanted Gase who has since gone to the Ravens.

Then why not just work a deal out "quickly"? Mayhew had a year and nothing..it seems Suh wants to test the free agency market.

Because you don't let that type of talent walk out the door. You try everything in your power to keep him. And if you have no chance of keeping him, you trade him. 31 other teams would murder each other to get there hands on this monster. I don't care what people say...

Let's just hope they don't change their minds having to wait two more weeks. Let's be honest, they may get nervous that all the top coordinators and coaches will be gone before they can sign Quinn..

It's made teams reverse direction before.

Meh...this deal was done weeks ago. All under the table handshakes. Not a chance Austin was getting a HC gig after a year. Did he deserve a look? Yeah, but reality needs to settle in. Do it again in year 2 and we'll talk...

But if they can't get a deal done you're stuck with a guy making 27 million bucks. Btw, that's not good. Too late to trade him..

Then you work your ass off on trying to sign him long term.

But there's no guarantee. Didn't Mayhew work his ass off the last 12 months? And if Suh is tagged for 27m, he has Mayhew more by the balls.

Of course there's no guarantee. I don't have a fkn clue what Mayhew has been doing for 12 months. Neither do you, but you'll bash him regardless. That's fact. Suh walks, Mayhew gets ridiculed. Suh re-signs, Mayhew gets ridiculed. Funny how you want this monster to leave. Why, so this defense can take a step or two backwards? Cause that's whats happening. Then you can rip on Mayhew for re-signing Fairley to a cheap contract and missing 4-5 games AGAIN or a rookie DT starting. It's never going to end...
Bottom line.....Mayhew needs to do everything and everything to lock this man up. HE makes this TEAM better. That's a fact...
