I didn't know exactly where it is - obviously - but being that she was heading home while being pulled over by a New Jersey officer - I think it was the State Police, but some New Jersey law enforcement personnel - I guess I at least figured I knew it was in New Jersey.

I don't know exactly where the New York side of the GW Bridge is in proximity to the Port Authority, but being as it's Friday afternoon and things are a bit slow until I head out to do my workout at my boxing gym, then pick up my Mickeys grenades and Jack Daniels, I'll look it up on a map of Manhattan.

I don't know if you know that my mom is from Bensonhurst, and I spent a lot of time in the city growing up, and even resided there for about a month near Penn Station and MSG on a job - I know the City pretty well - although I don't know exactly where the GW bridge is, I spent more time in the south part of Manhattan, and if driving would normally take the Lincoln tunnel.

EDIT: Having just looked at the map, it would make more sense that she used to take the Lincoln Tunnel to Jersey rather than the GW Bridge.

They manage the bridges, tunnels and Ferry terminals that connect NY to NJ - probably shipping ports as well, but I'm not sure about that. the stations, terminals and roadways/river themselves are patrolled by PA police but if she was pulled over in Tenafly it prob wasn't the PA police. The whole thing is a joint program that I believe is mostly run by NJ (tolls are for sure) with revenues and costs being split by both.

The Port Authority owns the World Trade Center site - that's probably why the NY headquarters are there. I think they own and operate JFK, Laguardia and Newark airports in addition to the tunnels and bridges.
