Congrats Ted Kennedy

No, I really hadn't.

It really mostly applies to John Jr., so maybe it's more of a New York thing.

I was living in Chicago then and Jr. was definitely a national figure - mostly because of his dad but also for being a playboy/heartthrob (according to Wikipedia he was People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1988). Remember all the ridiculous free publicity he got when he launched George on the eve of the internet boom, having never done anything in publishing? But you're right, he was not a national figure on the scale of his dad or uncles - not even close.

You sure know how to hurt a guy's feelings. Let's not forget you're the idiot who got his panties in a wad over a joke. It was a joke - like this one:

'what do the Kennedys miss most about Martha's Vineyard? The runway!'

But I assure you, there was nothing random about it - looking forward to 8/25/2015.

Nope. Panties never got in a wad. Was just making fun of your dumbass-ery.

He was a pop culture icon like the Royals; I'm sure you've heard of the Kennedys described as "America's Royal Family."

George was supposed to be a non-partisan publication, "Not Just Politics as Usual." Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter were amongst its contributors.

I suppose young John was probably a registered Democrat but except for publishing George I don't recall him ever having much to do with politics.

I don't know that he had planned ever to seek public office; a lot of people thought (maybe hoped) that would be his destiny.

Agreed, and that's what I meant by "national figure" - he was a nationally known celebrity, a household name (regularly on or inside the cover of magazines, on TV, etc - like Pitt, Jolie, the Kardashians, etc). And yes, George was supposed to be non-partisan and for all I know, it was. It was also a complete failure despite the heaps of publicity it got because of it's famous founder (and contributions from uofm law grad, Ann Coulter). I don't think he ever ran for office but he was very active in supporting his political relatives.

So the bigger question..Does Thumb wear panties?

Anyone who uses the word retard, particularly a PC hypocrite like thumb is probably too stupid to dress him/herself, so he probably wears whatever his mom puts on him. If he does, they most certainly were "in a bunch" over my Ted Kennedy joke.

So going off on a tirade about conservatives and using words like "retard" is "making fun" of something? Swing and a miss, douche.

I don't think being "PC" (another thing Conservatives love to whine about...) means you can't call a retard a retard. Retard.

It does. Or it should. At least if you're an impressionable middle schooler and one kid calls another kid retard in front of a teacher with a child with special needs it feels like it. An angry teacher might scare the kid she's angry at, but a perfectly calm teacher getting glassy eyed while she explains why it's hurtful sticks with every kid in the room.

I guess the context matters. if there was a special needs kid posting here, it may be a little insensitive for Thumb to call spartanhack a retard.

I don't know how hypocritical it is, since spartanhack is apparently the one who decides who has to abide by "PC" rules and who doesn't.

Context only matters to you when you need it to justify your hypocritical hate and/or liberal intolerance. Redskin - never ok, retard - ok if you hate someone and there are no actual mentally retarded people around. Funny that you say these things then make statements like this:

I don't know how hypocritical it is, since spartanhack is apparently the one who decides who has to abide by "PC" rules and who doesn't.

As if I give a shit about being PC or ever call anyone out for it - other than the PC police who think their hate justifies using such despicable language.

The best part Sparty: When you're trying to be funny, you come off as retarded. When you're trying to be serious, it ends up being hilarious.

Thanks for the lulz, 'tard.

I don't like the word myself, personal reasons. And honestly, Spartan, your jokes weren't funny.

Jokes? I only recall telling one and while I appreciate your honesty, I honestly don't care if you think it's funny or not.
