Do any of you believe in one or some of them?

There are a ton of conspiracy theories, mostly surrounding government, but do any of the people here actually believe them?

Some Examples

The Moon landing
9/11
JFK
Sandy Hook
The most recent shootings (Vegas, Seattle, Isla Vista)
The 12 year old girl "slenderman" stabbing

To me, most of these so called conspiracies are just ramblings of people trying to find a reason to be mad at the government, but who knows?

I believe that government definitely conspires to cover its mistakes and holds us accountable for trying to get to the facts. There are enough examples, to be sure.

9/11 and JFK's assassination will always be controversial. 7 World Trade Center and the Twin Towers collapsing & dropping into their own footprints, like a controlled implosion has always puzzled me. The nearly horizontal angle and landing elevation that a commercial jetliner would need to take to smack squarely into the squat Pentagon w/o hitting anything prior and not shearing the wings off during penetration seems impossible. There weren't a lot of obstacles in front of the building, but it wasn't exactly a clear landing strip either.

Cheney overseeing a simulated terrorist attack using hijacked jetliners that was taking place on an AFB the same day?!? Bush being a thousand miles away from DC at a FL school? He didn't seem to visibly react much when given the shocking news of what was happening, and just sat back down for awhile with his My Pet Goat book and looking zoned out.

I worked the graveyard shift back in '01, and was @ home that morning. I usually unwound by going down into my basement to twist one up & pop in a music DVD in my entertainment center and watch a rock concert or video compilations (I had hundreds to choose from my collection)

I never switched the tuner to TV, but for some reason, I did that day. The first thing I saw was smoke pouring out of one of the Twin Towers, then watched as the second was hit. I thought for a minute that I was watching a movie, since the sound was muted, that is, until I noticed the crawl on the bottom of the screen.

That the situation never raised red flags with more people was always peculiar to me. It's not like certain entities in our government are above false flag operations... But I guess the implications of thinking it through logically are pretty horrifying, and it's a lot more comforting to follow the official line. But to my thinking, the idea that a handful of dipshits with box cutters who were already on our own watch lists provoked the reaction it did is illogical to me. The response was not proportional, or in the right direction, especially in hindsight. There was no response tailored toward fighting this particular brand of terrorism... we have entered a state of increased government surveillance, higher defense spending, & emergency powers made permanent, and it's been embraced by most elected officials in both parties. You have to go to the "fringe" of each to find people that will speak out against it.

Bush Jr.'s first Treasury secretary Paul O'Neill, wrote a tell-all about it after they pushed him out. Now, obviously he had an axe to grind, but the Bush Administration never denied the content of his book was true. He basically described a surreal cabinet meeting after the attacks, where Condi Rice played piano and a few members (I think Rice & Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz) urged calm and kept stressing we needed to focus on the real fight in Iraq... and this was in September 2001... before we had even invaded Afghanistan.

Yes and no. I don't believe in any of the ones people talk about. 9/11, JFK, moon landing...

I do believe the behind-the-scene deals and the difference between the real motivation vs. what the government says publicly about things like TARP, Obamacare, repeal of Glass-Steagall qualify as conspiracies.

I would have to agree with Red for the most part.

I have a friend (UM undergrad, Masters and PhD in Rocket Science) at JPL in the Pasadena area who worked on the Mars Project the past few years. I asked her about this show that had aired on Fox that sought to show how the Moon Landing was faked ...things like the curious shadows and the flag the astronauts planted.

She schooled me in about five minutes with definitive proof of the landing ...

But I do think the government ...CIA, did collude to create inner cities with a suppressed citizenship by systemically introducing drugs and such. I do think the Govt LIES A LOT to the people, whether it be in the form of covering up a drone attack or simply lying about pending legislation.

I think that as time passes more skepticism and doubt can creep in and whether or not there are aliens in Area-51, it sure is fun to speculate.

But no, on the whole I don't typically believe in "conspiracies."

I'll say yes and no like red/blue (or maybe call him purple?)...but for different reasons. I think some conspiracies have merit, although that does not necessarily mean that I believe them. My late (step) uncle was privy to things that many of us are not and his experiences lead me to believe that much of what we see is not how it is.

That being neither here nor there, while not being alive for the JFK assassination there does seem to be a lot of intriguing angles to his death along with RFK as well. 9/11 seems to have taken a page right out of the never acted upon Operation Northwoods and the ancient astronaut theory is very intriguing to me in regard to our potential knowledge of extraterrestrial life.

It's an interesting world we live in and I think the old adage is true, truth is stranger than fiction. But if we look hard enough, the truth is out there...

They conspire against us; they conspire against each other; much of the conspiring is done right out in the clear light of day...

Where does the typical horseshit they get together and run on us every day end, and the conspiracy begins?

I cannot vote in your poll as none of the above would be correct for me, yes I believe in more than one or two conspiracies overall, I do care somewhat, but no I don't believe most of those listed in your examples...why do people that mock those that believe the gov lies most of the time often then give examples of the few that aren't conspiracies..oh you are one of those crazy conspiracies guys you don't believe we landed on the moon hahaha what a moron hahahahahaah

Well no I've never believed we didn't land on the moon but if it makes you more comfortable in your belief the gov generally tells the truth well ok then

Coast to coast am is an excellent well rounded (most of the time) civil nightly discussion on all things not main stream propaganda..highly recommend. It's not all conspiracy but IMO there is a lot the modern world thinks it's knows but it really doesn't know anything

We are just as wrong about some things today as those before us whom thought the world was flat IMO

I did recently hear a theory that even the bigfoots are abducted by aliens and made to provided labor for aliens on other words then brought back here and dropped off after their shifts...aliens that look somewhat human, but not exactly, with blue sparkle like pants apparently..

That's just weird, blue sparkle like pants that is...I'm not sure if I believe in the Bigfoot though, I've never seen one and I've never found any of the evidence or video all that convincing...but hey does that mean they don't exists? Well no..who am I to say they don't.

Maybe Sasquatches are the aliens.

I do think 911 was a Conspiracy. There was no reason for building 7 to go down. but it mysteriously all of a sudden blows up for no reason?

Also all the remains of the building were quickly cleaned up and sent off to China.

Where was the investigation ? There was no investigation on building 7

There was, it just took a long time to do properly. NIST is top notch. They had 2 or 3 Nobel Prize winners on their physics staff back when I was in school.

Here's the Final Report:

. . .but Red that's the great thing about Conspiracy theories to begin with. This report and all of its conclusions are just part of the conspiracy.

Most conspiracists have no facts to back up anything they claim but their own belief that things seem fishy, and that is enough for them. If I were Michchamp I would really attempt to insult them by calling them names for their beliefs, or I would compare it to a belief in Jesus, but in actuality, I have no problem with letting them believe it without attempting to denigrate them (except for the sarcasm above). :*)
