Crazy republican quotes

OMFG, that first clip is ridiculous...

I can't even click the next one.

"Former President Ronald Reagan, in testimony made public Thursday, said he had no recollection of ever being told that profits from Iran weapons sales were diverted to the Nicaraguan contras, and that he ``never had any inkling`` White House aide Oliver North was secretly helping the guerrillas.
...
But his deposition did reveal startling gaps in the memory of the 79-year-old former president. In all, Reagan said ``I don`t recall`` or ``I can`t remember`` 88 times in the eight hours of testimony taken Feb. 16-17 in Los Angeles.

At one point, Reagan said he could not identify Gen. John Vessey, who served for more than three years as his chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. At other times, he said he could not identify a picture of contra leader Adolfo Calero, could not recall a shipment of Hawk missiles to Iran in November 1985, had no memory of signing one presidential finding relating to the shipment of weapons to Iran and had only the slightest recollection of signing a second such finding."
Early onset alzheimer's, I guess... no wonder special interests loved the guy!

Reagan was also know for consulting an astrologer on policy.

Paraphrased quote from one of the liberal professors who brainwashed me into being a liberal: "...I'm not kidding! That's how he made his policy decisions! He and Nancy would ask an astrologer how the stars looked for bombing Libya, and then they'd go out and bomb Libya!"

My favorite Reagan one was the one about the killer trees.

Maybe Reagan should've reached across the aisle and made Joe Biden his vice Pres.

That would've been a hoot with those two together at the same time. I think it's pretty well-known that Reagan didn't care a whole lot for his vice Pres., George HW Bush.

Oh, yeah. Quayle was a source of endless material for late night comedians...

I remember when Letterman had the kid on his show after that. ridiculous.

"When you take the UNCF model that, what a waste it is to lose one's mind, or not to have a mind is being very wasteful, how true that is."

"I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy, but that could change."

"Mars is essentially in the same orbit.… Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe."

Dan knows science!

"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. [followup] No, not our nation's, but in World War II. I mean, we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century, but in this century's history."

those quotes remind me of Frank Clark at big ten media day saying that Michigan football was indestructible, like the Titanic, but of course he's just a college athlete, not one heartbeat away from the presidency but I would say he would have been a better VP than Palin would have been.

Here's a stupid quote from the incredibly stupid Tom Coburn (R-Ok):
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) warned that if President Barack Obama does take executive action on immigration "you could see violence."

"The country's going to go nuts, because they're going to see it as a move outside the authority of the president,
[note: this is not true] and it's going to be a very serious situation," Coburn said in an interview with USA Today. "You're going to see ?hopefully not? but you could see instances of anarchy?. You could see violence."
Yeah... isn't that... terrorism? Violence as a tool of political change?

the country isn't going to go nuts, nobody is going to give a shit, the chiefs play the raiders tonight, nobody's going to watch the speech

The Raiders are fucking terrible and I will still have 1000x more interest in that game.

I read something this morning that said none of the networks are going to carry the speech. You have to admit it's kind of funny that he's giving the speech at the same time that the Latin Grammys show starts...

Here's one from terrorism supporter & NY Republican Congressman Peter King defending the police killing of Eric Garner because he was selling people individual cigarettes on the sidewalk:
?If he had not had asthma, and a heart condition, and was so obese, he would not have died from this.?
So watch out obese, asthma sufferers with heart conditions: in Peter King's America, the police can put you in a choke hold for little to no reason, and if you die, it's your own fault.
