See a lot of Trout talk on here. Fact is, Trout has the most trade value in the game right now, maybe him and Bryce Harper. Those two would command more in a trade than Miggy. And yes if the Tigers and Angels were talking trade and Miggy for Trout came up, it would be the Angels that hang up. Miggy is a superstar but he's also making 20 mil a season, Trout is a superstar with 6 years of team control and plays a premium position.

Trouts a superstar now?? Holy fuck...after one year?? Interesting.

Not denying the kid's talent but lets see him do this consistently for a few years before we drop his name with the superstars like Miguel Cabrera.

Are you fucking serious? You think Trout is a superstar after little over a half year?

Trout is a superstar.

One of the 10 best players in baseball.

Its more to do with his crap season in '11, and great season in '12 and what might he do in '13? One season doesn't make a superstar IMO. He might have a heck of a year in '13 but he also might fail. But its ludicrous to think he'll get more in a trade over Miggy.

Top 10? He isn't in my top 10, probably not even top 15

Matt Kemp
Ryan Braun
Miguel Cabrera
Justin Verlander
Clayton Kershaw
Albert Pujols
Joey Votto
Prince Fielder
Jered Weaver
Josh Hamilton

He's having a good season. That's about all I can say. 1 year means jack to me.

And guess what you're both wrong. No one gives up more for 1 good year over hof player still in his 20's.

That's cool, you can disagree with me, some others here, most all baseball writers and most all baseball front office people. Go right ahead.

It's basically in NBA terms the equivalent of trading Lebron James for Kyrie Irving and frankly unheard of to be honest.

I would love the trade i seen on espn somewhere.

tigers would get: hram, anibal sanchez, and infante

marlins get: castellanos, turner and young.

I think that was in the section of: What 5 trades should happen in the AL. Not even rumors, just a thought.

As I said, Jose Reyes was almost the best player in baseball for awhile last year. Guys have good years. If he continues to be this effective in all aspects then sure. I have to wonder if Quintin Berry gets hot, hits .320 this year (been around .300 since his call up) and does everything Trout does besides hit for power, is he going to be a top 10 player in the league? No.

(I realize he's older..just saying) 1 year means nothing...Austin Jackson had a hell of a rookie campaign and by the end of last year, virtually the entire board here was looking for his replacement.

The problem with this rumored trade idea is that Sanchez is a FA after this season and will likely draw plenty of interest. He is making 8M this season so would surely look for a raise in that so it would probably take somewhere in the range of 5y 55-60m deal to keep him. So basically given the fact we already have 3 pitchers that are looking for long term deals and could not afford to resign him long term we are gaining a rental for the remainder of the season.

Infante would fill a huge void we have at 2B but in all fairness could be had for a lot less then any of our top 5 prospects.

Now we come to the fact that were basically trading Turner and Castellanos for Hanley and on top of that then asking him to play a corner OF spot which he has not done his entire career.

Lets also not forget there is no way in hell the Marlins would take Young in any trade from us. A better revision of this trade idea would look something like this.

Marlins would get: Turner, Peralta and Castellanos
Tigers would get: Ramirez, Sanchez, Infante

Trade would make more sense for the Marlins who could then have Peralta play 3B for the remainder of this season and next and give Castellanos more time to develop into the full time role.

Lineup:
CF - Jackson
LF - Berry
3B - Cabrera
1B - Fielder
SS - Ramirez
DH - Young
RF - Boesch
C - Avila
2B - Infante

Rotation:
Verlander
Fister
Sanchez
Scherzer
Porcello

On paper it looks like a pretty damn nice Lineup and Rotation for this year but when looking at it closer you have to understand we now have some serious future issues. We would be trading our top 2 prospects away basically to fill the 3 hole in the rotation (for just this year) and a non hole we have at SS. Again Infante could be had for a lot cheaper then any of our top 5 prospects to fill the 2B hole.

Would basically be an all in to win this year with this move so pick your poison.

Personally, I would not want Hanley Ramirez anywhere near this team. A guy who's gone downhill fast over the last 3 years and is no longer even a SS. Plus he's rumored to have an attitude problem in the clubhouse.

I doubt he would have issues with the Tigers' clubhouse, especially with his good pal Miguel Cabrera.

Okay, so you still have the fact that he's in serious decline plus makes an assload of money.

And even if he's tight with Cabrera, what about the 23 other guys in the clubhouse.

My opinion is he's not really any better then Peralta when you factor in his pricetag.

Question would be what would help us more a package of Turner and Castellanos for Ramirez or Upton?

A trade that could work in filling both a corner OF slot and possibly the 2B hole could be.

Diamondbacks receive: Boesch, Castallanos, Turner
Tigers receive: Upton, Drew

Its a given that the Diamondbacks are looking to move Upton and are rumored to be in talks with Pittsburgh but a package of Castallanos and Turner would easily trump the offer the Diamondbacks were asking from the Pirates. Drew is coming off a nasty ankle injury but could be plugged into the 2B hole.
