Crispy Creme in trouble because of bridge closing

How about establishments with walk-up windows?
he's just saying he doesn't eat from the establishment. like he doesn't consume his food at the drive through window as they hand it to him, he parks his car, then eats while listening to Rush, or his local catholic "Relevant Radio" station like I do.

Although... I listen to both for entertainment purposes. People say the dumbest stuff on those shows! examples in the former case, are the litany of people who read their life story as though it came from a GOP campaign ad, before coming to some complaint about their life that has nothing to do with politics, and in the latter case, the dad who was convinced his family's misfortune was due to his teenage son viewing satanist material on the internet, and bringing the devil into their home. did you know the Devil comes as a downloadable app on your home PC now? he's adapted to the times. the priest advised him to have his pastor come and bless his home (which he added, everyone should have done a few times a year for good measure) like having the roofing guy out to check for leaks.

Depends. Been a while. Like never.

Went to a food truck yesterday...beer batter dipped, pull-pork stuffed, jalapeno poppers.

I should learn the alt-code for the proper spelling...164

Jalape?o poppers, that is.

I eat fast food generally about once a year, usually in an airport but that stuff is damn good. those food scientists that spray the food with who knows what to get it to taste good know what the hello they're doing. it usually tears my stomach up since i'm not used to eating that.

I do eat burgers, pizza (not big chain pizza), etc but it's the mass produced factory stuff that i avoid. red coat burgers over burger king, buddy's pizza over little ceasars, etc

My only fast food weakness is Taco Bell on rare occasions, and White Castle about once a year, though it's been like 2 years since I have had WC's.

And I love me some Subway, but I don't really consider that fast food, more like deli food.

same, it's not the same. i prefer jimmy johns or potbelly though, a little better quality IMO

I think the bad rep fast food gets is unwarranted.

the worst meals I've ever eaten were at the sit-down chains, Darden-Restaurant Group kinda places: Applebees, Houlihans, Red Lobster, TGI Fridays, etc. yuck. I've had some awful meals at those places.

at least McDonalds does a pretty good job of keeping quality up. if you go to their HQ, it shows... they run a tight ship. it's an incredibly well-managed company. You can't say the same thing for BK, Taco Bell, etc., but on the avg., I'd actually rather eat at those places than Applebees.

I try to stay away from Subway... I've actually gotten sick there. they seem to do a pretty poor job of keeping their ingredients fresh, and unlike burger joints, their food isn't at least cooked. I actually pointed out black mold on tomatoes to a guy who worked there once... he was going to put them on people's subs... he didn't know what mold was (!!!!)

I wonder where Chris Christie eats? He's fat.

Christie's weight is somewhat irrelevant other than the health risk it poses given his aspirations for higher office. it's about as relevant as Hillary Clintons hair.

the truth is that Christie has just about zero chance of making it through a republican primary. there were a lot of skeletons in his VP VET for Romney but he's still a socially liberal, obama hugging, governor of a hated state. it's not happening folks, no way he makes it through the primary, he worked with the president and democrats in NJ, that used to be a good thing for a GOP candidate, now it's the kiss of death

Fast Food has come under a lot of pressure recently to improve ingredients but the far-reaching impact socio-economically is disastrous. It's okay to indulge in a BigMac once in a while and internationally, mcD does use local ingredients, many who have no choice but to eat the affordable fast food are not doing their bodies any favor

As for Christie, it's funny ....I had a conversation with an M fan last week and we were talking about the diff between Hoke, Borges & Mattison and the far more athletic looking Meyer, Fickle & Vrabel from the b10 team showcases ....Fat gym teachers vs Athletes.

Christie is the John Daly of politics - relatable, fallable and fat

great analogy, i'll have to borrow that

if the GOP establishment decides Christie is their guy, they can grease the skids so he slides right through. (though that metaphor takes on extra weight in his case.)

being "too centrist" isn't going to matter. Freaking Mitt Romney won the last primary, a guy who couldn't be more removed from the GOP base.

They'll get the pundits to play along and plant hit pieces on the Tea Party/True Believer fundies who challenge him in Iowa and New Hampshire. Or ignore them until they start to fade (like they did with Ron Paul) because apparently a lot of people vote based on whether the media tells them a guy has a chance to win, or who's name they've heard recently.

as of now though, it seems like Christie has too many enemies in his own party to have the GOP establishment do him any favors. this scandal itself probably won't be the thing that hurts him in 2016. it's news now, but unless it really sinks him in NJ (like he's impeached or recalled), it won't be in 2016. people will forget by then, or maybe there'll be an economic boom in jersey or something and he'll get credit for it. or maybe he'll fall on an al qaeda operative preventing a terrorist attack...

Awww . . . I liked the saving the USA comment you had there pre-edit. Was going to ask which president you thought was the last one to save the USA?

it is not lost to history, fortunately. the board lets you compare versions.

"...but it probably won't be in 2016. people will forget by then, or maybe Christie will save America or something, redeeming himself"

I'm not sure who was the last President to save the USA. There was George Washington, then Abe Lincoln of course.

the rest is conjecture. Maybe FDR for the New Deal reforms that managed to avert a complete social collapse (I'm oversimplifying the decade, but it's not unrealistic) or allow the rise of a fascist/reactionary right like Germany and Italy endured? Or JFK for exercising some restraint on the military during the Cuban Missile Crises? If the 1960 election would've gone the other way, perhaps you'd see a Secretary of State Kissinger advising President Nixon to nuke Cuba.

IMHO I believe it was Kennedy, and agree it is very much conjecture, fans of every president since then will always make their case (except Carter - no way anyone would ever accuse him of that). So having said that, I haven't thought there was even a remote possibility for any current candidates on either side to be in that group.

SO . . . what that means is Christie, whether he is/was "my man in 2016" or not is pretty close to unelectable for POTUS.

At least that is what I was thinking when I first read that posting - pre-edit.

BTW - the ability to look at previous edits is the main reason I try very hard to leave everything but grammar mistakes alone. :*)
