Tigers put Delmon Young back on roster to replace Magglio.

Delmon Young back on the active roster to replace Magglio Ordonez.

Delmon may not be ready yet, but possibly could be down road. We'll have to see today. Saturday night, he said "no idea" when he'd be ready.

I doubt we see him today, but we will see! Maybe he can swing the bat.

Have Delmon DH if possible, give "Count Catchula" the game off, pencil VMart in @ catcher, then HOPE like HELL that Young coaxes a BB, (but only in his last AB, so he can be PR for) hits a homer, or smacks a ground-rule double (then PR for) in each of his ABs.

:)

Thought I read somewhere that Young is batting 3rd today. I will try and find it again and post the link.

If he's halfway healthy that's a big deal. Losing Boesch, Maggs and Young is alot to overcome.

Jim Leyland on Delmon: "He's feeling pretty good. Did not swing yesterday.'' Says Delmon is fine, will play and bat third.

why was he left off the roster to begin with? I don't get how just two days ago he is to injured to come back for a seven-game series, and now all of a sudden he is ready for game two. hopefully it works out

Didn't know a team could even do that.

the fact they can do that makes me think our mgmt is a bunch of dumbasses for taking him out of the series in the first place. Hes the only guy hitting the ball. If he had any chance of comming back in a couple days they should have kept him on the roster.

I think that they thought it was an oblique injury, which takes longer to heal than what DY actually has (They said it wasn't quite in that spot of an oblique injury) And they just assumed that it would heal the same as an oblique injury.....or he took some magic medicine.

Seems super weird though.

Their reasoning was that if he was on the roster and got hurt or something and they had to replace him, then he would be ineligible to play on the WS regardless of whether or not he was healthy.

Yeah, VERY strange, but we should soon see IF Delmon can really play in the field, and if he is actually instead trying to play through/with his injury, or not?

???
