Detroit 122 Atlanta 101 Final

I really like Cade. I didn't expect him to be so good this early.

Same here. He's definitely not gonna be a bust. The question now is how good will he become. Because if he develops into a star this team can get really good, really fast.

He's as good as I would expect the #1 overall pick to be. That said, I'm happy he's what I expect.

He is slightly worse than the past 2 rookie of the year winners were in their rookie years (Morant & Ball). But both of them got better their second year and Morant is a legit star in year 3

I've somewhat come around on Killian.

Aside from scoring struggles, he seems to do a lot of the little things well, things that don't necessarily show up on the box score.

I don't know if he will be a starter in this league, but definitely could be good off the bench, if not here then somewhere else.

Have to remind myself that he's only 20 and has just a season's worth of games under his belt (game 83 was yesterday).

He is still young but I would expect a little more out of the #7 pick in the draft. His payer efficiency rating is among the lowest on the team.

That said, the 2020 draft class has been pretty decent. Bey and Stewart are starters and Hayes (24.6 min) and Lee (15.3) have been contributing.

Try to keep in mind that Hayes was the youngest player in that entire draft. Was he taken too early for a project type player? Most could/would argue he was. But when I hear people talk about cutting him I just gotta shake my head.

looking at the draft results, it doesn't seem like there were any "no brainers" selected after Hayes.

Hopefully he keeps developing. Not sure how he and Cade fit together on the floor. Maybe he ends up being a super bench player. Someone who plays 25 minutes a game and no real drop off from the starters??

That's my biggest concern is Hayes distributes really well and Cade is too good with the ball in his hands. As of right now I'm not sure how they coexist on the floor until Hayes develops a consistent jump shot.

If people can shake the fact that he as a #7 overall pick, I would like to see Hayes as Cade's primary backup similiar to what you said. That's assuming he never figures out his shot.
