Detroit Lions FA Thread

On top of Round 1 D

Defense Round 2 and 4 2013
Defense Round 3 and 4 2012, plus re-sign of Tulloch,Avril,Levy,Sammie Lee Hill to various contracts
2011 sign Tulloch,Durant,Houston,Wright, then Fairley Round 1
2010 Suh Round 1, Spievey Round 3. KVB contract

Plenty of fire power used on defense.

So in 4 years you drafted
suh no brainer
fairley not even sure we want him still
lolspievey
A nickel corner
and last year they finally had a good draft and went ansah slay

....and ur trying to use this info to show we address our shitty defense? Is this some sort of sick joke? Lol

2011 free agency, 2012 free agency and most 2013 free agency.

You are down on Houston/Slay and Jones. Glad you're not the GM. We'll add more too.

Unknown with life without Sproles and Moore right now. Stay tuned.

Drew Brees has been good or great every year with the Saints regardless of what he had around him. His average completion % has been 67.3% never falling below 63%. His yards per attempt is 7.8 with his lowest being 6.8. His passer rating average is 99.0 with his lowest being 89.4. Bottom line is Brees makes that offense because he is smart and accurate.

Free agency over that time has been resigning the SAME guys lol. When your defense isn't good and needs to be upgraded...then you resign the same players...welp....guess what....their not going to be any good. If im an owner of a team and I have to watch w endling start multiple games for an NFL football team...im firing my gm. Now if it was the east county divisional flag football playoff....maybe id start him. Probably not the championship game...but maybe the divisional game.

The Lions defense is much better than you think. Offensive turnovers screwed them. 2011 were new guys at the time other than Houston, 2012 was re-sign (of a playoff team), and 2013 was Quin/Jones (both new).

It's like you don't even pay attention.

I do pay attention....to reality. You keep making excuses for being mediocre. Quinn/jones? That was the big answer to propel us from 4 wins to 7? Yippie....

Quin is a good player and we'll see what Jones can do back from injury. And now Ihedigbo to pair with Quin. Another new guy.

You just blindly hate all moves. You thought we've gone mainly offense. But it's been balanced. You can't even describe the situation. No way anyone should use your assessments.

Defense is awesome. Offense is awesome. We have more talent than seattle. We clearly should listen to your assessments.

Very very talented team. I'm not the only one who has said that. Time to put that talent into wins and avoid the turnovers that screwed us.

dude, did Mayhew sleep with your mom or something? your irrational hatred for somebody who has not affected your personal life in any possible way is deeply disturbing... seek help

Beyond disturbing really.

I don't mind this. I just hope the Lions don't consider him a true #2. More of a slot ...

My hatred for mayhew is disturbing? You say this....then when I say the same thing you start arguing with me about it lmao. Thats disturbing...

I'll admit. I thought the Golden signing was a decent one at first, but the more I looked at it and thought about it, I loved it. I had no idea he led the league in NOT dropping passes for the last 3 years, I didn't know his YAC was tops in the league as well. I did know that he was a bluecollar type of WR and that he could be a good fit who could take some pressure off CJ. That and he plays STs and loves to hit people. I can change my mind and I did, I think he's a solid #2 who can play inside and out....

As for your hatred for Mayhew. That's for you and your shrink to sort out, bud.

Fair enough. And ill reserve the right to change my mind about mayhew when he does something good for this franchise. Right now he hasn't proven to draft well out of the first rd, extended schwartz then wanted to fire him, then fired him after the dmg was done, and fa has been questionable minus maybe bush and quin. Throw in one of the worst records since hrs been here....not much to root for.

Warford was a great pick...and even though Rieff was a 1st rounder a lot of people shit all over him before the draft myself included but he has turned out to be a gem.

Yup loved last years draft....xanders kept him in line thru rd 4 lol. Reiff pick was great value at a position of need. I didnt agree with playing a 1st rd tackle at part time fb lol. At the least he shouldve started over peterman at rg. If you wanted to keep him at tackle and cherilus wasnt in ur future plans he should have played at rt.

He still could be the Lions RT , Mayhew sits chill at #10 and goes for Taylor Lewand.

2 bookends for the next 10 years.

yup, mentioned it 2 months ago that I thought it was weird none of the u of m homers were talking about lewan at 10. Kid has some mental issues but he frikken killed the combine....dude looked like a defensive end lol. If gilbert is gone he might just be the best value on the board when were picking.

I think the Lions have Lewan ahead of Gilbert on their board...seriously I don't see him drafting a CB in the 1st round.

Agreed. They have brought in and signed so many scrubs at this point, it's all too obvious they don't have any plans to address CB early in the draft, if at all.

you take Lewan at #10 you then go all in and take Swanson in the 3rd or Stork in the 4th and the OLINE is set for the next 10 years.
