Lions sign P Ryan Santoso and RB Kerwynn Williams to futures contracts. Santoso was in Lions camp last offseason as a kicker/punter. Williams was a seventh-round pick of Indianapolis in 2013 and had a role in the Arizona backfield from 2014 to 2017. Out of the league last year, the 27-year-old is more of a runner than receiver and is one of the more intriguing futures deals players signed by Detroit. As far as Santoso, he struggled with accuracy last year in training camp but has a massive leg. Something to keep an eye on with both Matt Prater and Sam Martin having decent-sized cap numbers in 2019.

Dan Orlovsky turned down Lions coaching job in 2017.
The former Lions quarterback wasn?t ready to take a coaching role, but may be ready now.

As the Detroit Lions begin their search for an offensive coordinator?and possibly an entirely new offensive coaching staff?news leaked this week that former Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky had a chance to be a part of the staff in 2017, but turned it down.

According to Chris Burke of The Athletic, Jim Caldwell offered Orlovsky a job midway through the 2017 season after the veteran quarterback decided to retire.

?I think you?re going to be remarkable coach in the future, if that?s what you?d like to do,? Caldwell said per Burke.

Orlovsky declined, saying he wasn?t ready to make that transition and needed to take a break. Since then, Orlovsky has become a Twitter favorite and has earned a job with ESPN as an analyst both at the pro and college level.

However, Orlovsky wouldn?t be opposed to join the coaching ranks this year.

?If I get a call from somewhere (where I have) ties, know those people and can see what the future will be, then maybe,? Orlovsky said.

As of Thursday morning, the team had not reached out to him about their offensive coordinator position, but stay tuned.

Since the 2017 season, Diggs and @Jordan Poyer are the only DBs in the NFL to produce 130+ tackles, 8 TFLs, 6 INTs & 1 pick-six.

Lions RBs Kerryon Johnson (@AyeyoKEJO), LeGarrette Blount (@LG_Blount) and Zach Zenner (@zenner31) were the only trio of RBs in the NFL to each finish the season with 250+ rushing yards & 3+ TDs.
The last trio of Lions RBs to do so was in the 1973 season.

Lions DT Damon Harrison @snacks, a 1st-Team All-Pro selection in 2016, has put together another All-Pro caliber campaign this season.
He set NFL records, helped to significantly improve the Lions' run defense and continued the dominance he's played with since entering the NFL in 2012:
