Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Detroit Lions among teams that ?desperately need to strike a trade?.
I think you can probably guess the suggested target of a trade.
The Detroit Lions are good but still need a piece of the puzzle to push them to where they should be.

At least, that?s what Chris Roling of Bleacher Report argues. Just past the first quarter of the season, the writer listed Detroit as the first of six NFL teams that ?desperately need to strike a trade.?

He explains that while the Lions look good on both sides of the ball right now, bolstering Detroit?s defensive power could be the key to a successful season. Roling suggests the trade that Lions fans love to think about: bringing Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Motor City.

?Ramsey and the Lions are a good schematic fit, and the Detroit front office has plenty of draft assets to splurge (it still has all of its top-50 picks over the next two years) if it wants to make a move,? Roling writes.

The #Lions CBs have combined for 11 Forced Incompletions (T-3rd) and a completion % allowed of 52.8% (3rd)
That?s with a well-rounded effort throughout the young season.
4 by Melvin Weeks 1-2
4 by Coleman in Weeks 4-5#OnePride

After week 4, #Lions CB Justin Coleman is tied for an NFL-leading 6 pass break-ups while CB Rashaan Melvin is tied for 6th most w/ 5 PBUs.
Pair those two with Slay -- who has the most PBUs in the NFL since 2013.

Kenny Golladay ranks among the top five receivers in air yards.
Air yards vs. receiving yards for all pass-catchers with 100+ routes run through Week 5 (R=0.81).
Man, Kenny Golladay and Curtis Samuel have the air yards for high-end production but have yet to see it in the box score.
NFL Air Yards leaders ::

Mike Evans (581)
Keenan Allen (522)
Marquise Brown (507)
DeVante Parker (487)
Kenny Golladay (482)
Julio Jones (474)
John Brown (473)
Curtis Samuel (464)
DeAndre Hopkins (462)
