Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Detroit Lions host Alabama LB Reuben Foster on pre-draft visit.
Mlive

Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster visited the Lions on Friday. Foster is the No. 9 prospect in the draft according to Scouts, Inc. and the top inside linebacker in the draft. While it would be a mild surprise to see him available at No. 21, he would provide an immediate boost at a position of need for the Lions.
In Todd McShay and Mel Kiper's dueling mock drafts, Foster was gone by No. 15 (Kiper) and No. 17 (McShay). He's the type of player it could make sense for the Lions to trade up to get if he is still around in the mid-teens.

In surprising news, NFL vice president of officiating, Dean Blandino, has stepped down from his position and it appears he is going to be joining FOX?s football coverage. The news comes as a shock, considering Blandino was going to be integral for the league?s transition into a centralized review system.
