I didn't see a game thread so here we go.

Bottom of the 4th with the A's at bat in a scoreless game.

28 scoreless innings and counting for out kittens.

But it?s at the Oakland version of Comerica Park, right?

Like, it?s virtually Oakland, right?

they scored 2 runs. I think that's their allotment as of late. Gotta hold Oakland to 1 run if they want to win :)

49 pitches so far skubal in the bottom of the 5th.

im confused why is oak the home team at comerica?

Had no idea they were even playing right now. LOL. I don't even bother checking the schedules so disconnected from caring that much. And wait what, they are winning? holy balls.

they had a game @ Oakland that was canceled due to weather. It is a make up game. Hence the name of the thread: Detroit @ Oakland @ Detroit ;)

I wrote this for Tinsel in the Team Notes when He asked me yesterday.

The Tigers and A?s will play a traditional doubleheader beginning at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday at Comerica Park. Tigers lefty Tarik Skubal (1-2, 3.04 ERA) will face Oakland right-hander Frankie Montas (2-2, 3.44) in Game 1.

The second game, which will start about 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first, will be the second big-league start for Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo.
The A?s have not yet announced their starter.

The A?s will officially be the home team for the opener, which is a makeup one of the games postponed due to the late start of the season. Maybe April 4th.

Based on what we?ve seen of the new dead ball and its response to humidity,
I suspect the changes MLB implemented in its ?concern for improving consistency? may have led to the least consistent ball the game has ever seen.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/09/sports/baseball/rob-manfred-baseballs.html
Rob Manfred and M.L.B. Seek Consistency on Baseballs.
The baseball commissioner said the league was working to ensure balls performed the same at all parks. Humidors and gripping agents are part of that plan.

One game? that's weird can't see what those games were supposed to be anywhere. LOL

It was a 3 game set they don't play them enough to have 3 home games in Detroit. Without taking Detroit home games a way.

Final line for Tarik Skubal:

7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

His season ERA is 2.94

Skubal is using his whole pitching arsenal, causing his fastball to have an impressive 38% CSW rate.

And the Tigers struggle on the road continues.

And they?re not much better at Comerica.

Where their struggles also continue.

They continued to struggle on the road and continued to struggle at Comerica, both in the same game.

That?s a tough one to pull off.
