Inge...ugh...better be just one of Leyland's late inning defensive replacements...

*Note for people that are reading this. John Verburg is more than happy to give you impressions from guys he has heard things on. It's a fun thing to follow, but please keep in mind that all of these kids are a tremendous way away from ever even reaching AA, let alone the major leagues.
Jesus Uztaris had a nice year, and he does have some ability, but caution people to get too crazy about statistics for players at this level.
We will really start finding out about these guys as they get to full season leagues. Again, its about development and learning to play every day at this level.

Have confirmed that the Connecticut Tigers 3B and Tigers 4th round pick Jason King has a "significant knee injury." Rumored to be ACL.

Nice to see Castellanos showing the plate discipline in August.

Also good to see Vazquez putting the ball in play.

A Tigers prospect with a K-rate of 17.5 is pretty rare.

That is good, especially as a 17 year old. 18 on 1/08/12.
he will fill out from 170 pounds in the next 2/3/4 years and should be a corner of most likely in right. many good reports on him, including work ethic.

Yeah, with his age and size I didn't expect much power from him, so it's good to see that unlike most Tigers prospects he doesn't have a high K-rate, especially considering his young age.

Good season for a young player a year removed from high school.

Midwest League leader in hits, tied for second in doubles,

and yes, August and second half he has shown improved walk rate.

Walk rate is 15% in August, and got his season walk rate up to 7.6% which is solid.

Hopefully next year he can get that to the 10% mark, while keeping his K-Rate in the low 20's like it's been since June,

I would like to see what he can do in full season ball to start next year. A West Michigan assignment would not only challenge him, but would allow me to get out to see him more.
