Ausmus said he "seriously considering" batting Avila second in the order against right-handers. He said it's not set in stone yet but that it is "legitimately" on the table. Anthony Gose appears to be the other main candidate, though there's a chance he could lead off, which would allow Ian Kinsler to bat second.
Ausmus said Jose Iglesias could work his way into being a candidate to hit second and that he doesn't see Yoenis Cespedes, J.D. Martinez or Nick Castellanos as options there.
