"I'm feeling good," he said. "Hopefully, I can make good progress. I don't want to say six weeks or four weeks or something like that. I want to see how it feels every day. ... I want to be positive and hopefully -- this can take a long time -- hopefully I can be soon on the field and be with the team."

Cabrera has learned from experience that he shouldn't rush himself.

"I don't want to go back because that happened with my ankle," he said. "I didn't take the right time, so my ankle was bothering me the whole season. I've got to be smart. I've got to be on the right track and I'd like to be healthy because I feel like if I keep playing with problems I'm going to get hurt again like this."
