With Tuesday?s loss, the f'n Tigers are now 8-26 against the Angels since September 2012.
Nicholas Castellanos enters Wednesday on a five-game hitting streak. He is 6 for 17, including two doubles and a home run, with four walks during that stretch.
Farmer allowed zero runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings against the White Sox in his only MLB start this season. He struck out 11 and earned the win.
Farmer is 2-3 with 3.86 ERA in 10 starts for Triple-A Toledo this year. He has given up 67 hits, struck out 56 and walked 12 in 60 2/3 innings.
Meyer is making his seventh start of the season. He has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but one start, including his last one. He gave up one run on five hits in six innings June 1 against the Twins.
Meyer beat the Tigers earlier this year, allowing one run on three hits in 6 1/3 innings. Overall, he is 1-0 with a 3.68 ERA in two career appearances against Detroit.
Miguel Cabrera is 0 for 4 vs Meyer, while Nicholas Castellanos and Victor Martinez both are 2 for 4.
