Lots of baseball people think Cabrera at 3B will be adequate. Lots don't. We'll see what happens. Tigers are committed. Advantage, Cabrera.
What would be acceptable to you error wise? ... Pretty simple metrics: Are errors, range, etc., canceling run-production?

Seems the Tigers could beat Miami's Cespedes offer with Inge's $5.5m off the books in '13 ... They can. Inge not a factor.
Miami made Cespedes a mid-range offer ($30m-plus, reportedly). His stock obviously fell, and sharply, during his Dominican stint.
Agree scouts determine Cespedes' worth. Check their before-and-after reports following his Dominican cameo. A lot less certainty.
If Miami was so sure about Cespedes, they would have waterboarded him into a contract.
Doubt any group of scouts were as collectively impressed as Detroit's ahead of Cespedes' D.R. stint. Scouts, overall, now have weaker knees.
All you need to know about Cespedes are those few words top scouts commonly use when they discuss him: High risk, (potentially) high reward.
Do you think Phillies make Cespedes an offer? ... Phils have been gun-shy. Red Sox, Yankees, also have grave doubts.
Teams still haven't been "unblocked" to sign Cespedes. Tigers are no doubt talking through back channels.
Perhaps Cespedes went through a slump at the worst possible time after a long layoff?
Cespedes' skill set is stratospheric. Safe to say concerns were magnified by the D.R. stint. That hardly disqualifies him.
