Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Tigers coaches, including Leyland and Tom Brookens, spent extra time at the start of pregame batting practice Wednesday working with Berry on bunt technique. It's a point of improvement for the Tigers with Berry, who has more bunt hits (six) than the rest of the team combined (four) but also has had his share of bunt attempts go awry. According to research from STATS Inc., Berry has attempted 31 bunts trying for a hit, and tried 11 sacrifice bunts with three successes. Berry entered Wednesday night ranked fourth in the American League in bunt hits despite spending the first six weeks of the season at Triple-A Toledo. The three players ahead of him -- Erick Aybar, Alcides Esocbar and Ben Revere -- have all been up longer.

Scherzer last 7GS: 5-1, 2.54ERA, just 34H in 46IP, 14BB/54K....
going back 12G (since ERA was 6.26), he's 8-2, 3.50ERA, 25BB/94K in 74.2IP.

Thanks Steve, I did post the NC story yesterday, here and/or the minor league thread,

July 26 in Tigers history:

1916 - Tigers favorite Harry Heilmann gets an appreciative hand from the crowd for having dived into the Detroit River last night to save a woman from drowning.

1937 - Mickey Cochrane resumes command of the Detroit Tigers as a bench manager.

1957 - Jim Bunning of the Tigers 2-hits New York 3 - 2, but one of the hits is Mickey Mantle's 200th homer of his career. Al Kaline knocks in two of the Tigers runs today.

Last 7 starts for Max Scherzer: 5-1, 2.54, 1.04 WHIP, 54 SO/14 BB.
Anything you can do, I can do better also: Through 20 starts, Scherzer and Justin Verlander both have 142 Ks, 2nd to King Felix.

With the big trades that went down on Monday you would’ve thought it was deadline day, but no, the non-waiver trade deadline is actually a week from today at 4pm EST. Detroit beat the clock by trading SP Jacob Turner and a couple of minor leaguers to Miami for SP Anibal Sanchez and 2B Omar Infante. Great deal for Detroit here as it solves one of their biggest problems, middle defense, and helps lengthen their starting rotation. I have a feeling they will run away with the American League Central now, after sweeping the White Sox over the weekend they may have already been in the process of doing that, but now with Justin Verlander, Doug Fister, Sanchez, and Max Scherzer in the rotation, they are clearly taking aim at the Yankees, Rangers, and Angels for best team in the AL.
