Did James Comey break the Hatch Act ?

Does extrachromosomebob start the dumbest threads? constantly.

as usual Mr. Stupid can't even be bothered to click a link - even just to CNN - and read and comment intelligently.

as usual Mr. Stupid resorts to name calling and hand waving because he has nothing else to contribute.

typical Trump supporter.

I don't know: I smell media bias here. Maybe it's me.

Richard Painter - quoted in the article - was my law professor during the term he left to become Bush's White House ethics counsel. He's been a lifelong, moderate Republican of the East Coast "elitist" sort.

FWIW, the White House is standing behind Comey.

It was a bullshit announcement and timing. All they had were additional emails from Weiner to Abedin, his soon-to-be-ex-wife, who happens to be a Clinton staffer. it sounds like, and they haven't even reviewed them. for all they know these could all be duplicate emails that were already reviewed.

It's the nature of our Banana Republic. It's "Just-us." It's farcical to the extreme. Comey first says "nothing to see here" and then uncovers e-mails from a pedophile-exhibitionist who's married to a Clinton staffer whom Hill would kick off the cliff without blinking and Harry Reid of all people calls out Comey for impropriety. And we, the electorate, is responsible.

Not sure why the actions of Weiner are extended to his wife, who stood by him publicly when he promised to get help, but separated from him recently when it's clear he was either insincere or beyond help.

here's a timeline of Comey's career, along with some context for some of his more questionable recent actions.

Obama appointed him to head the FBI. If you ask me what this means... I have no answer. He was a lifelong Republican. Maybe Obama figured by putting him in charge of the FBI, he could avoid getting slammed with any bullshit smoke-and-mirrors, Whitewater-esque investigations during his second term, like Comey spear-headed in the late 90's. Put Comey somewhere he'll keep himself busy. Comey couldn't manage to stay out of politics though.

You got it mostly right but bob is not a trump supporter. To your main point, if Bob had clicked those links and read them rather than just reading the headlines and running here to post them, even he would be able to tell that this is just partisan hand-waiving to distract people and the only person who likely broke any laws was Hillary, not Comey.

Notice I said maybe. Seriously what's wrong with you ? I did read them and posted the article for discussing but as usual you can't stop yourself from name calling, and drunken thread deleting ..The timing of this was purely political from Comey and only a partisan hack like you would not see it. Maybe he should have realsed them but don't do so unless your going to let us know what's on them.

Well when you have one party that has campaign on repealing your major victory in getting more people healthcare I think both of you would do it to. You all know that the Gop could have fixed obamacare but they really didn't want to because they wouldn't have anything to run on. Why not fix it so more people can be covered? You guys both know the reason why this do nothing GOP congress lead by the treasonist Mitch Mcconnell has done nothing to help..

Trump's good ideas on healthcare.

I'm always happy Bob - even when I'm making fun of you, it's never out of hate. I learned a long time ago that hate is a waste of time.

I know Orrin Hatch is old, but I wouldn't have guessed that he was around in 1939.

He was born in Pittsburgh and relocated to Utah.

I don't know if he's a Cubs fan or not.

As is pointed out in the CNN piece, it's arguable that Comey was in violation of the Hatch Act back in July, when he rendered a public opinion on the criminality or lack thereof regarding the subject of his investigation, as opposed to simply turning over the investigatorial findings to prosecutors within the Department of Justice to make the choice to proceed with a prosecution or to not proceed with one.

dipshit Comey just announced there would be no prosecution & all the emails were duplicates of other emails already reviewed earlier.

the result was as expected and oh so predictable. only completely stupid fucks would have expected otherwise.
