I read an account of when Gordie worked at a cement depot as an 18-year-old. His job was to move 50-pound bags of cement from point A to B. Co-workers carried one bag under each arm. Gordie carried one in each hand like they were loaves of bread. In the same account Gordie knocked on Eric Lindros's front door. Eric tried to open it, and it appeared to be stuck. Gordie was merely holding onto the door knob. He was 69 at the time. Lindros was 24.
