Great article on him in the Detroit News:
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2011111170324

Dorsey admits his turnaround at GRCC couldn't happen if he didn't let his guard down, get honest with himself and be willing ask for help. He spends most of his free time watching football with teammates, envisioning a day he can strap on a winged helmet, run out of the Michigan Stadium tunnel and slap the famous "Go Blue" banner.

Dorsey said he's determined to stay out of the police blotter, and describes the previous criminal charges as being "in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people."

"People will say, 'Dang, that's supposed to be you out there making that play,'" Dorsey said. "But I try not to look at it that way. I want to show everyone that I'm doing what I'm supposed to do and can be great no matter where I go."

As Dorsey received treatment on his ankle he wore a Block M stocking hat. Asked about the accessory, Dorsey pulled a pair of maize and blue gloves out of his pocket.

"I'm going to get to the next level," he said, grinning.
...

"If I can get into the school, I know I'll find a way to make the team," he said. "Nobody knows how bad I want it."
...

Confidence clearly isn't a quality Dorsey is afraid to show. He points to his Block M knit hat as the only motivation he needs.

"This M stands for Michigan, but it also stands for Miracle," said Dorsey. "Anybody who believes I'm not going to do something; I make it a point to turn them into a believer.

Kind of makes you root for the guy a little bit.

It sounds like he really really wants to go to Michigan. Hopefully he keeps his grades up and Brady and the staff take a look at him.

Just walk away Brady...find someone else.

I think Brady would be kinda dumb to turn away a walk-on five star.....if he can get into the university.

Seen him play on tape and in the all star game and I'm not impressed. Dude acts like a thug, and I think Brady would be wise to just recruit his own 4-5 star. Just my opinion.

A walk on is a walk on. It costs him nothing.

Thats true... I guess as long as he's compliant and quiet I don't mind. Just hope he's better than what I've seen and if he's not then he doesn't play. I don't want to sit and watch him play for 3 years missing tackles n getting beat deep.

sure, except the time he spends on him instead of other players, the hit to team chemistry if he turns out to be a problem, and the hit to the university's & program's reputation if he gets in legal trouble (again) after he gets to Ann Arbor.

I guess but if he can get through JUCO without having any issues what makes you think he'll automatically be a problem here?

I have confidence in hoke. If he thinks he's worth his time, then take a chance on him. If he doesn't, let him go play down south for a dirty team.

I hope the kid gets a shot somewhere in D-1. If he earns his way into Michigan, then that is great for him. It sounds like he is truly trying to better himself, so hopefully he continues on that path and does great things with his future. I'm rooting for him.

I'm not "rooting" for him. He's at JUCO instead of UM because of him, not because he was dealt a bad hand or something. I'm not rooting against him, but just vbecause NOW he wants to work hard, I'm not pulling for him.

He made some mistakes as a kid. Get over yourself man.

Everyone who reaches the point of self-assessment and the willingness to reverse bad decisions is a sign of maturity and I'll support anyone who makes that decision.

I'm with you Byco.

Two things though, he's not walking on, and I only want him at corner.

I agree, but I don't think Dorsey has come close to demonstrating that. what's that saying about morals are what you do when no one else is looking? every jackass athlete who screws up is smart enough to mumble their way through some insincere apology to placate the court of public opinion. well... except Terrelle Pryor... but I digress.

at this point, Dorsey hasn't done much more than talk nice to the dumbass jersey chasers that follow recruiting like it was their religion.

Going to a JUCO and playing sandlot, RichRod-style garbage football isn't demonstrating squat.

My 4th grade curriculum was more challenging than JUCO.

I'm sure Hoke and Mattison will do a good job of determining if Dorsey meets your standards.

damn right they will, Radiohead.

Is there any indication they've even spoken to him?

seems to me the defense is coming along nicely without him, and as of next year there will be no reason to even take a chance on him.

sure... armed robbery, burglary... just kids being kids!

Guys in my high school used to strap up and rob people in the neighborhood all the time. It was no big deal.

The article says the only communication he's had with UM is with Denard, his second cousin.

They could use a corner.
