Again, I was not analyzing his criminal history from a legal standpoint, just saying that if I were the coach of Michigan, I would not take a chance on him.
that detnews article doesn't exactly wow me with his chances, either: <blockquote>The defensive backs and safeties circled around each other inside Grand Rapids Community College's gymnasium and watched as the flashy south Florida newcomer sauntered in with a disdainful look on his face.
Demar Dorsey didn't care he was late because he's Demar Dorsey, a highly-touted Division I prospect who had signed with Michigan just a year earlier. He was entitled to his own schedule.
At least that's the vibe Dorsey, a defensive back from Fort Lauderdale, gave Detroit native Evan Ray, his new freshman teammate. Ray had to issue a warning. One thing led to another, the two ended up jawing at each other, pushing and shoving, and even threw a few punches, according to coach Tony Annese.
</blockquote>sounds like he really arrived focused on being the best he could be...<blockquote>"He can fly, he can cover, he's a lock-down corner," said Annese, who also plays Dorsey at safety. "He's a great tackler, just a guy with a lot of ability. The thing is, even at this level, you find a lot of guys with that kind of ability. It's still humbling for him to a certain degree, to the point where he has those, 'Wow, that (opponent) is pretty good' moments."
One of Dorsey's major challenges this fall has been improving his footwork. Ryan Hodges, GRCC's defensive backs coach, said Dorsey often made plays in high school while out of position because he had game-changing 4.2 speed and a 39-inch vertical jump.
"Great athlete, but a horrible defensive back," Hodges said of his first impressions of Dorsey in practice. "He's got great potential, and we're helping him, but he's got to be the one to turn that potential into something positive."</blockquote>SO... he's still struggling to cover guys at Grand Rapids Community College, and has such poor technique, it's even evident to the Ray Howland-coaching types in the minor leagues...
So, I guess one could reasonably conclude he could be a lockdown corner at Michigan! I'd be willing to take a chance on that! What's his address? Send him an offer TODAY!
