Ducks 2. Red WIngs 0 Final

Sorry I didn't get back on here sooner. PL Mrazek started,

Lol. Refs take away wings goal. So ticky tacky.

Mantha. 22 games played 16 points on 9 goals and a +10..

Wings ain't very good. I think they play again in LA tomorrow or Friday so I can suffer through watching them on TV again...

My son and I watched Vikings after the first period and I totally forgot about the game. Typical Wings ...zero offense.

Does anyone here regularly follow the draft? For the first time in a long time, I am thinking it will be easier to just pivot my attention towards the draft.

Don't really follow the draft, however, TSN in Canada normally does a pretty good job of covering it early.

Just take anything written by Craig Button with a MASSIVE MASSIVE grain of salt. He is either pointing out the obvious consensus or just plain wrong.

Elite prospects has an amazing database.

Hope this helps.

At least Mrazek played solid. On the first goal was the questionable non-icing call than a terrible turnover from Ericsson. The second goal was failure to clear followed by a breakdown in defensive coverage. Powerplay looked horrid, especially, that Ott goalie interference.

The team didn't really play with any real jump until the last few minutes of the third. A shakeup is required and Holland is unwilling to do it.

Holland hasn't done much good with Scotty/Nill no longer in his ear.

I totally agree losing Nill really hurt also not making room for Yzerman was a mistake by the illich family. We need to bottom out and get a few top picks probably. As much as I want to make the playoffs and keep the amazing streak alive Holland has just made to many mistakes.
LOOKING BACK
sign Franzen or Hossa. . Man oh man Kenny what a whiff.

I don't blame Holland for taking Franzen over Hossa.

Nobody could have predicted Franzen's concussion issues. Not to mention Franzen the team grown player outperformed the mercenary Hossa. It was easier to commit to the younger player coming from the team's development system.

For the 2009 playoffs;
Franzen 23 points, Zetterberg 24
Hossa 15 points, Hudler 13

Damn Franzen is already 37 years old... what happens when players don't crack squad till their mid 20s.

Lack of plan for Lidstrom's departure was the bigger blunder.

When Chicago won their cup in 2010, their team salary was 20+ million over the salary cap limit.

The salary cap was set at 56.8 million. When your dolling out around 80 million in actual salary you still have an advantage compared to other teams.

Yay for salary cap circumvention!

Detroit wasn't clean of this either. The Franzen/Zetterberg contracts starting 2009-10 season are prime examples.

I wish capgeek was still around that might have been their 2013 cup they were 20+ mil over not 2010 cause they had some many youngsters on ELCs.

It's pretty violent though .. I mean I am sure you know that given the time period and like all tv shiows they take alot of liberties. The main characters struggle with faith was really interesting and on going in the series.
