Fairley

Maybe Fairley wasn't capable of putting on 20 more pounds without binge eating. He wasn't built like Suh(tree trunks for legs). A healthy Fairley isn't a DT nor a DE, he's somewhere in the middle.

Hard to say for sure. A healthy Fairley is a lot like the Aurora Borealis.

It's an amazing thing to see for sure, but not very common, and most of us would be blown away to actually witness it.

I'm hoping the guy has a hell of a career from here, but I honestly think he's going to have challenges staying on the field.

I'm actually thinking he finishes his career stronger than he started it

Fairley weighed in at 280 for his rams physical, lightest he has been since his Auburn days. Watch him stay healthy and have some ridiculous year. Only the lions luck

280 lbs isn't necessarily a good thing when you're a DT. He wasn't the strongest to begin with and usually depended on his speed and quick jump offs. He'll get man-handled at that weight.

If I was a Rams fan I'd be excited about the name...As a Lions fan I can care less he's gone. He didn't work out here, wish him the best of luck.

Blah. Anyway, regardless what he does from here on out I couldn't see a reason why he'd be a good sign for us..

Just a hunch...I think the Lions might regret not picking up the option, but they won't regret not re-signing him long-term. Unless he becomes an absolute monster, I think it was the right move to let him go...just too much risk, whether it's health, consistency, or work ethic.

We'll have a ton of space next year. He'll be a free agent. Two good years in a row, a year removed from the knee injury. Bring out the welcome back banners.
